Madakaripura Waterfall is always to be an alternative waterfall compared to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall regarding the distance and also the time you need. Madakaripura is better to combine within 3 days with Mount Bromo and Ijen, but for Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, you will need 4 days in total.

Tumpak Sewu Waterfall is a stunning waterfall located in the Pronojiwo District of Lumajang Regency in East Java, Indonesia. Anyway, we have also an Update from Ijen Crater for this week:

Ijen Crater opened again at 2 a.m., but the blue fire is not really visible at the moment. The benefit is you can go down into the crater + you can still see the whole view of the Mining area and some miners too and of course the whole landscape during the sunrise.

Ijen Crater is still not open at night due to volcano activity (toxic gas, lake water level). So, all tourists are not allowed to visit at midnight to see blue fire for safety reasons.

They can only start hiking in the early morning at 4:00 am for sunrise, but you can still see the whole view from the top and some miners too.

Just a regular update for Ijen Crater for this Thursday (8th June 2023), the blue fire spot remains closed due to volcanic activity in the center of the volcano. So all the visitors are just able to hike to the top of the crater only. The trekking opens at 4 am from Paltuding (the start point for this trekking to Ijen Crater).

Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, also known as Coban Sewu, is a stunning waterfall located in East Java, Indonesia. The name Tumpak Sewu means "a thousand waterfalls" in Javanese, which refers to the many small streams that cascade down the steep cliffs surrounding the waterfall. The waterfall is situated in the Pronojiwo district, about 30 kilometers from the city of Lumajang.
