Bukit Lawang Ecotourism was established in 2014, and has become SUMECO media wings to promote tourism in Bukit Lawang, North Sumatra through social media such as Facebook and Instagram. Its main objectives are to empower the local community in Bukit Lawang through sharing knowledge, conservation efforts, and creating environmental background community. We serve responsible biodiversity exploration

through jungle treks, study trips, h**ping, and many more activities in Bukit Lawang. Promoting responsible tourism has been our priority, especially since we are a conservation-based ecotourism business in Bukit Lawang through our central focus to fund SUMECO (Sumatra Ecoproject). Visiting Bukit Lawang through responsible tourism is a must, and avoiding getting too close to the animals will be one good example. During dealing with the animals, Bukit Lawang Ecotourism will always be following safety procedures and proper tourism ethics inside and outside Gunung Leuser National Park. The pandemic of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) caused by SARS-CoV-2 has been classified as a zoonotic disease. No one can stop the next pandemic, but at least we know how to behave when we are engaged in wildlife sightseeing tours, a serious responsibility has been mandatory.

Physical damage to the hearing organs of animals:

The hearing of many animals is much more sensitive than it is in humans, so the explosions of fireworks are not only more disturbing to them, but they can damage their hearing more severely. Fireworks can emit sounds of up to 190 decibels (110 to 115 decibels above the range of 75 to 80 decibels where the damage to the human ear begins). Fireworks generate a higher noise level than firecrackers, gunshots (140 decibels), and some jet planes (100 decibels).

Noises caused by fireworks and firecrackers can lead to loss of hearing and tinnitus. Many primates are known to suffer irreversible hearing loss caused by proximity to the noise of fireworks.

Family : Scincidae
Species : Lipinia vittigera
Size (snout to vent) : 4.2 cm
Size (total length) : 10 cm

This attractive little skink inhabits tree trunks in lowland primary and secondary forest up to 1600 metres elevation. It is rarely seen on account of its extreme shyness : it will quickly hide itself in a tree crevice under the slightest disturbance. (ecologyasia.com)

It is a home to many species of plants and animals. Seven million people rely on the Leuser Ecosystem for clean air, water, flood protection, irrigation, medicines, and their livelihoods. The Leuser Ecosystem is the ONLY place on Earth where rhinos, tigers, orangutans, and elephants are still found together in the wild.

King cobra is the only snake species that build their own nest and guard it until a few days before they’re hatched. This nest-building behavior remains unusual among snakes. King cobra’s mating season in Sumatra begins from January to April and the most unique for this species, they remain together during the mating season. The females will drag the males to wherever she goes. The possibility of encontouring and conflicts are believed to be higher at the beginning of the mating season because males will roam in larger areas to find mates.

BirdLife International noted that Indonesia is home to at least 17% of all bird species around the world and it is in 4th position with its bird species diversity. However, based on its endemicity, Indonesia is ranked at 1st position for its most number of endemic bird species in the world.

Indonesia 525 species
Australia 359 species
Philippines 259 species
Brazil 254 species
Peru 134 species
Mexico 120 species
Madagascar 119 species
Papua New Guinea 114 species
Colombia 93 species
New Zealand 91 species

It will be a tough challenge for "the so-called Indonesian conservationists", especially Indonesia is also listed as a country with the highest number of endangered species.
