ON THE ROCKS is located on top of the hill – surrounded by pure nature, located directly beside the border to the national park. No motorbikes, no other guesthouses beside us – a quite and relaxing spot with a colorful botanic garden and lovely private wooden bungalows. You wanna hear the sound of the jungle, listen to the birds in our garden, watch the monkeys jumping around our area? The OTR-Jun

gle-Crew will be happy to show and explain you the amazing wild life in the Gunung Leuser National Park. ON THE ROCKS has 8 bungalows and a restaurant with spectacular panoramic view into the jungle, Bukit Lawang and the river. All bungalows have internal bathrooms with shower and a balcony with a hammock. You wanna hear the sound of the jungle, listen to the birds in our garden, watch the monkeys jumping around in our area, sing and laugh at our fire place? The OTR-Jungle-Crew will be happy to show and explain you the amazing wild life in the Gunung Leuser National park. Beside this we also can organize different activities to explore Bukit Lawang and its surrounding and transportation.

Hi to you all.

It's been 5+ months since the fire totally destroyed our restaurant and kitchen, and as I type this now, I still find it hard to believe.

We are so proud, and even more thankful, to be able to share this post today of the 'almost' finished new restaurant.

It has taken a lot of intense hard work, both mentally and physically, to get us back to where we are today, and as always, Wawan sends endless thanks to everyone who has made this possible.

The GoFundMe page will remain open until we can say the restaurant and kitchen "IS FINISHED" (not long now).

A belated Happy New Year to you all.

Today is Wawan's birthday (the owner of On The Rocks), so we decided to share an update so you can all see how much work Wawan and his amazing team have put in / still are putting in since the tragic fire on Otober 3rd, 2023. Once again, we, and especially Wawan, thank all of you who have donated.

There is still a long way to go, but we are getting there.
