The Directorate General (Ditjen) of Immigration of the Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Affairs has issued new regulations regarding the process of residence permit applications for foreign nationals (WNA) in Indonesia. Now, foreign nationals are required to visit the Immigration Office in person to extend their residence permits.
The regulation is based on Circular Letter
Number IMI-417.GR.01.01 of 2025 and takes effect starting May 29, 2025. Foreign nationals in Indonesia must undergo a photo-taking and
interview process at the Immigration Office when applying for an extension of their residence permit.
