This hidden gem Nyang Nyang Beach, situated on Uluwatu street, Banjar Karang Boma, Pecatu, Kuta-Badung. The location is indeed not as strategic as other famous beaches in Bali. This can also be a factor that why Nyang Nyang Beach still can be missed by the beach seekers. But precisely what often underrated is usually hides their own beauty.

To be able to reach the shoreline, you have to go down the hill and hundreds of stairs with fairly extreme field. Before starting go down the hill, look at the scenery from the height. Your eyes will be refreshed by the incredible sea view. The gradation of the sea water color is extremely stunning especially, when it is a sunny day. Don't take your eyes off of both sides of the path while walking, who knows you will be greeted by monkeys who often roam the branches near you.

After going through the trekking route, your fatigue will be paid off with the sound of rolling waves. As far as the eye can see, only the expanse of the blue ocean.

Soan Galuh Beach is hidden gem. Not many people know of its existence. This beach is located in Antap, Kec. Selemadeg, Tabanan Regency, Bali. The location is in the west of Tabanan.

In addition to the rocks lined up like stone monuments, this beach also has a fairly popular photo spot. This spot is a tunnel made of rock. The tunnel that looks like a cave directly faces the sea. So it's not surprising that many visitors are eyeing photo spots here. This beach is the best fishing spot in Tabanan because of the large number of fish. So, don't be surprised if you will find several fishing boats anchored here.

You can visit Tibumana Waterfall, located in Banjar Bangun Lemah Kawan, Apuan Village, Susut District. If driving from Ubud, the distance is about 35 km and takes 35 minutes. However, departing from Kuta can take 2 hours and 1 hour from Denpasar with normal traffic conditions. When you arrive at Apuan Village, stop at the Apuan Village Temple and you can park your vehicle there. To get to the natural and refreshing Tibumana Waterfall, you can pass the road next to the temple.

According to the local information, behind the Tibumana Waterfall, there is a cave which is a shortcut to the Cave of King Besakih. But until now there are no visitors who dare to enter the cave. Because the conditions in the cave are too narrow and pitch black.

Location of Suwat Waterfall is in Suwat Village, Gianyar District, Gianyar Regency. This waterfall is near from Ubud and Denpasar. Because of its strategic location, Suwat Waterfall is often visited by tourists. It only takes 30 minutes from downtown Ubud and about one hour from Denpasar. The trip to the waterfall feels fun because you will walk along a rural road that is decorated with green rice fields.

The height of the waterfall reaches 15 meters. Water flowing from above seems to give calm and coolness to anyone who is underneath. The sound of water splashing on the rocks below seemed to be able to take away all the fatigue and stress. Around the location of the waterfall, you can enjoy the green trees that become an attraction other than the splash of the waterfall. Dense green leaves that cover the cliff of the waterfall also provide quite cool air. Suwat Waterfall has cool, clear water. It is suitable for you who want to swim or play water. Pagerwesi is derived from the words Pager (iron) and Wesi (fence). The words iron and fence are the symbol of self-protection against the evil spirit. In addition, it also said that the iron fence also has a purpose to protect the knowledge you’ve gained on Saraswati Day. It’s a celebration four days before Pagerwesi.

Pagerwesi Day is also dedicated to worship Sanghyang Paramesti Guru or God Siva. It is the God who’s responsible to wipe out all the bad and evil entities in the world. Sanghyang Paramesti Guru also leads people to live their lives appropriately by avoiding any bad behaviors or evil desires.

Pagerwesi is celebrated every 210 days or once in 6 months, based on Balinese Pawukon Calendar. When the day comes, you’ll see Balinese offerings at almost every house. People also put their offerings on the graves of any deceased family members that haven’t been cremated to protect them spiritually. After that, they will pray at the private temple in their house called Sanggah or Merajan, then going to the temple that is located near the village. Pagerwesi is different from other Balinese ceremonies, because it’s celebrated in the middle of the night.

Kedongan beach located at the same shore line as the Jimbaran beach. From Jimbaran beach a bit north around several minutes walking yoiu will arrive at Kedonganan beach. The beach is under the Tuban district and famous for its fishing village.

The Kedongan beach has a white sandy beach and around its shoreline there are many fishing boats which deliver fresh fish every day for the south part of Bali. If you love photography then coming to this beach early in the morning is a must as you can capture various kind of activities at the beach and at the fish market.
If you want to sample fresh seafood dishes then you can buy your own fresh lobster and grilled at the market for just several thousand rupiah. If you want more elegant places to eat then Kedonganan has many seafood restaurants located on the beachfront side. Have you dinner on these places and you will get a wonderful evening enjoying wnderful sunset while having seafoods.
If you want to make your day even more enjoyable in Kedonganan try to rent one of the traditional boats and go around the many famous beaches such as Balangan beach, Dreamland beach or even go to Kuta beach.

Babi Guling
One of the most famous cultural dishes known in Bali is babi guling (spit roast pig). The pig is stuffed with base genep and slow-roasted on an open fire until the skin is crispy and the meat succulent. Babi guling is usually carved into thin slices with the aromatic base genep giving a comprehensive earthy note balanced with the salty and savoury flavours of the pork. Babi Guling was originally made as a ceremonial offering to the Balinese Hindu gods, with the pig served whole to represent perfection and abundant grace to the gods.

Ayam Betutu
The name ‘Betutu’ comes from the word ‘tutu’ which means to burn. The word is then combined with the word ‘be’ which means meat. Therefore, Betutu means a baked meat. Ayam Betutu is made by baking a chicken in the fire husk. The unique part is, the chicken is still on its original shape. It’s seasoned by some Balinese spices which make the taste become very authentic. Such as wewangen seasoning, salt, and coconut oil. The flavored chicken will be boiled, then baked to produce a distinctive aroma. The tasty aroma comes from herbs, water, and also fatty meat. The more steam its produced, the stronger the aroma.

Megibung is a dining occasion that demonstrates togetherness in Balinese life. It is an activity where some people sit together and share the food from one big plate or, more traditionally, off of a big piece of banana leaf. The tradition that originated in the Karangasem regency is actually not only about sharing the food, throughout the dinner people can engage in a light conversation and get to know each other better. The word Megibung derives from the Balinese word gibung, which means “share with each other”.

Each group usually consists of five to seven people sitting cross-legged in a circle. Rice and side dishes are presented on a huge plate made from banana leaf or woven coconut leaf. Then the host welcomes the guests to start tasting the food, and allows everyone to feel free to eat by hand. Should an individual finish eating before the others, he should not leave before the rest have finished eating.

The activity is a legacy from the ancestors that is still preserved. The togetherness does not actually start right from the moment of dining, but before. The solidarity begins with gathering the ingredients, and slaughtering the pig as the basic ingredients for all the dishes. Then, with the help of women, together they prepare all the items, which includes satay, lawar – pork and young jackfruit salad, soup, and many more.

Bali is famous for a variety of its delicious dishes. In addition to some balinese dishes, there’s another popular food called Sambal Matah and Sambal Mbe. The distinctive taste makes Sambal loved by almost everyone.

Sambal Matah
Sambal matah is made with all raw ingredients. The defining characteristic of this sambal is in its spiciness and freshness. It is made with spicy chilies, shallots and more with a flavorful mixture of shrimp paste and other fresh ingredients. It is very much like a salsa, a perfect condiment for spicing up many meals. All you need to do is to cut the ingredients, and then mix them with seasonings and hot oil.

Sambal Embe
Sambal Embe is very simple. Uniquely, this sambal uses pieces of fried onions that make it taste even more savory. Other ingredients to make this sambal are curly red chili, cayenne pepper, shrimp paste, salt, and lime. To make the sambal, all ingredients will be sauteed until half-cooked or dried, according to taste. After sautéing, the ingredients are then blended then mixed with fried onions, sugar, and salt. Some stalls and restaurants even add a lot of fried onions, so the chili texture becomes more crispy.
