JATILUWIH RICETERRACE
Jatiluwih Tourism Village is located in Penebel District, Tabanan Regency, Bali, Indonesia is a geographical and cultural gem hidden on the slopes of Batukaru. With an altitude of approximately 685 m above sea level. On June 29, 2012, Jatiluwih received international recognition when its traditional rice field irrigation system, Subak, was recognized by UNESCO as one of the World Cultural Heritage. The Subak system, which is rooted in the Tri Hita Karana teachings in Hinduism reflects the balance and harmony between humans, nature and spirituality. Built since the 11th century, subak is not only an irrigation system but also a philosophy of life that emphasizes harmony and sustainability. Jatiluwih Village is surrounded by a 24-hectare protected forest which is home to various species of endemic flora and fauna. Among them are various species of rare birds and animals such as the Javan slow loris, which are often seen by visitors while hiking or cycling through the paths that divide the forest and rice fields. Jatiluwih Village offers more than just stunning views of terraced rice fields. Our village is a place where visitors can enjoy various outdoor activities such as trekking and cycling through paths that connect the rice fields with the forest. Jatiluwih Village also hosts traditional festivals and ceremonies that allow visitors to experience the richness of local culture and traditions.
