TRAVEL WITH US TO SUPPORT THE NATIONAL PARK OF TANJUNG PUTING AND THE ORANGUTANS!
- We TRY HARD to avoid the use of plastic. In a normal trip of 2 persons, 24-30 pieces of non-recyclable plastic bottles of 500ml end up polluting the river or our ocean, and we speak for only 2 nights trip. For this reason, we STOP using plastic bottle of 500ml and start giving away a stainless-steel bottle to be filled and reused by our guests. This giveaway is only available on our Orangutan Tour, but we are planning to further expand the distribution to other tours!
- Our big klotoks (also used for the SHARED ones during summer time) have a big gallon of drinking water of 20 liters where you can fill your reusable bottle easily.
- We promote a CLEAN RIVER by providing organic and biodegradable shampoo-gel product on-board since 2014. The water from the shower and sink go directly to the river. By using our natural products, you help to reduce pollution to the river.
- Our kitchen has 70% local products of Borneo, purchased directly and fresh in the local market the morning your tour starts, in order to have fruits, vegetables, meat and fish as fresh as possible. Other products such as coffee and tea, are produced elsewhere in Indonesia but bought in local stores to help local economy.
- Electricity: We use large blocks of ice to keep our ‘refrigerators' for up to 3 to 4 days. For more than 4 days, new food and ice are brought to our klotoks. To charge phone batteries and cameras, we put a generator running in the afternoon until after dinner. Some of our boats have already installed batteries for lights at night. During nighttime, we TRY to avoid the noise of the generator as much as possible. We believe candles are great to enjoy the tranquility of the jungle (plus it helps to shoo flies and mosquitoes!)
- Behavior: Our local guides are legal, well trained and nature lovers. With that, we ensure that you will have the best and most accurate information during your journey with us.
- Reforestation: Come2Indonesia collaborates with a reforestation project in Pesalat within the Tanjung Puting National Park. -We CARE. As nature lovers ourselves, we want to take part in conserving the forest and wildlife of Borneo. Instead of just making profit out of it, part of our benefit goes to the foundations that help the conservation of the Orangutans in Borneo and other on-going projects related, for their futures. By joining our trips, you too help in conserving Orangutan in Borneo.
- Share your photos! Showing the world the beauty of these wildlife creatures will help to raise the awareness of thousands of people out there. Help the world to open their eyes that we need to to protect the flora and fauna of Borneo.
We trust you as our best advertisement! And that is why we want to give an unforgettable service that you can share to the world.
