Bali's charm is undeniable, with its lush landscapes, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality. However, the downside of its fame is the overcrowding that affects some of the most popular destinations. In the pursuit of an authentic and peaceful Balinese experience, it's essential to explore off-the-beaten-path destinations. Let's dive into the finest Bali destination to get away from the crowd!
1. Nusa Penida
The lovely and unique Nusa Penida island is only 25 kilometers from Bali. Although Nusa Penida is a considerably smaller island than Bali, but it has some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the entire Bali province.
2. Munduk
Misty mountain village and surrounded by nice jungles and waterfalls for hiking, Munduk is located in the northern part of Bali. Munduk often has pleasant hiking weather throughout the year. However, it may be very wet during the rainy season, which lasts from November to April.
3. Tirta Gangga
Tirta Gangga, home to magnificent palaces. Tirta Gangga does see its fair amount of tourists throughout the day, the evenings there are far more tranquil than other destinations in Bali. The primary attraction is the scenic countryside beyond the palace, which offers some amazing adventures to nearby villages, sacred shrines, and peaceful rice fields.
4. Kelingking Beach
Our honorable mention goes to Kelingking Beach, one of Nusa Penida's most well-known locations that frequently featured in commercials promoting Bali and Indonesia. We advise you to climb down the cliff to enjoy the heavenly beach away from the crowd. There aren't many tourists at Kelingking Beach due to the steep hills you have to climb down. So be prepared!
