Tumpek Landep Day in Bali
Hindus in Bali to celebrate Tumpek Landep rite today. It is a holy day to respect the almighty God in His manifestation as the Sang Hyang Siwa Pasupati who is believed to be the supreme divine force (in Bali commonly known as “Taksu”) of anything exists in the universe including the living and non-living things. Tumpek Landep is celebrated every six months determined by Balinese Calendar which equals to 210 days exactly on Saniscara Kliwon Landep.
Offerings served during Tumpek Landep Day
Balinese Hindus use a number of symbols to visualize their respected God. The temple shrine for instance, is respected as the home of the gods where worshippers usually offer well-decorated offerings and knelling down to get close to the god before the shrine on holy days. Additionally, a number of spiritual goods or in Bali named as Pratima made of wood and metal also resided inside the temple shrines to sharpen the spiritual vibrations of the shrines

On this Tumpek Landep day, Hindus residing across the island are in particular respecting the metal spiritual goods especially Keris which is believed to have to possess spiritual power and nowadays served as one of cultural tangible heritages.
