The first part of the trip, on the way to the start point, will be a stop at an agro-tourism village, Susut, in the Bangli region, to view a plantation of Bali’s spices, and see the process of making Bali’s famous ‘Luwak Coffee’ — tasting will be free of charge. From here you will be driven to the start point where the cycling route starts at Penelokan, in Kintamani district, overlooking the activ
e volcano Mt. Agung to the east, for breakfast in a most scenic venue. From Penelokan you will cycle southwards, following small roads and paths all the way downhill to Tampaksiring and Ubud, covering a distance of approximately 35-40 km. Visits will be made at local dwellings that maintain traditional Balinese architecture and your guides will explain the functions of the different structures in the family courtyard. The guides will offer fresh bananas at the first rest point to help maintain stamina. Cycling downhill, far from the busy traffic of the main roads, is the ideal way to view activities of the local village people and enjoy discovering the quiet pace of life of back-road Bali. Lunch will be provided upon arrival the finish point.
