Sanur Beach - - Best Things To Do In Bali - Indonesia

Sanur beach is pretty average in most respects, but where it really shines (no pun intended) is at sunrise. This beach is one of the best sunrise viewing spots on the entire island.

Sanur is known for being one of the most quiet and family friendly areas of Bali Indonesia, but there are also plenty of good things to do there.

Families will love the laid back atmosphere and chill restaurants at Sanur Beach, and the sunrise views here are some of the best you can find anywhere in Bali.

This sleepy seaside town on the southeast coast of Bali was one of the original birthplaces of tourism on the island, and it’s still popular for its nice hotels, shopping, breakfast, massages, and easy access to the Nusa islands.

Sanur Rice Fields - Best Things To Do In Bali - Indonesia

There’s a group of rice fields near Sanur that is virtually unknown to tourists, but they’re just as green as any of the others in Bali! A new jogging path through the fields was just added in 2018.

Bali Zoo - Best Things To Do In Bali - Indonesia

The Bali Zoo has a lot of great wildlife, including some species that are local to Indonesia. You can get your picture taken with tropical birds here, and the park facilities and animal care seem good too.

A zoo is a zoo, and once you’ve seen one, you might think you’ve seen them all, but the Bali Zoo is a bit special and probably different from any other zoo you’ve visited!

The great thing about the Bali Zoo is that it has a lot of animals native to Bali, Java, and the rest of Indonesia and Southeast Asia, so it’s extra relevant for anyone traveling in this part of the world.

It also happens to be a pretty good zoo in its own right, so we decided to write this Bali zoo review after visiting it several times ourselves.

They even have some fun events where you can interact with the animals in a limited setting, such as the ‘breakfast with orangutans’ package, but everything seems to be well managed and ethically run.

Kuta Sea Turtle Release - Best Things To Do In Bali Indonesia

Looking for an activity that lets you interact with animals, and benefits conservation? You can release turtles with the Bali Sea Turtle Society (BSTS) as a volunteer! It’s completely free, and you get to see hundreds of sea turtles on the beach running to freedom.

Are you looking for an activity that’s fun and free, lets you interact with animals, and benefits conservation?

You can release baby sea turtles with the Bali Sea Turtle Society (BSTS) as a volunteer! This is an ethical conservation project that was founded by a Balinese local, Wayan Wiradnyana, in 2001.

The busy coast of Bali (and especially Kuta) is a popular place for turtles to lay their eggs, and they’re quite vulnerable, so BSTS rescues the eggs and protects them until the turtles are hatched and ready to be released into the wild.

There are several organizations working with turtle conservation in Bali, but BSTS is the best known and seems to have the best management. Today, it draws crowds of people wanting to release baby sea turtles in Bali.

How To Release Baby Sea Turtles In Bali
The Kuta sea turtle release is a free volunteer activity open to anyone, including tourists.

Donations are welcome, but it’s completely free — you don’t have to pay anything to release a turtle.

The only thing you have to do is get in line early enough to get a ticket, because there is a limited number of turtles and lots of people want to release them.

There was a huge group of Chinese tourists when we went in July, so we almost didn’t get a spot in line.
