A stroll along the Sanur beachfront is one of the simplest pleasures you can enjoy in this seaside neighbourhood - it is actually one of the factors (among many others, of course) that differentiates it from the other coastal areas of south Bali.

Unlike, say, Kuta and Seminyak, where much of the beachfront is now either commercial property or walkways are set back, there is a very democratic nature to the beachfront path of Sanur. Sure, restaurants, shops and hotels do line the sides, but the path takes precedence, as if to decree that it is a public right to enjoy the space - as it should be!

Of course, Sanur's ability to retain that essence of the past -- with its ancient trees towering above head, or coral-stone walls and low-rise buildings -- has made it a neighbourhood with its own character and allure.
