Volcanic eruptions in Indonesia have forced the cancellation of several flights across Australia to and from Bali.

Jetstar and Virgin have grounded planes to and from Bali because of ash clouds from Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki after it erupted a several times over the weekend.

AirAisa flights are still departing, with two flights due out of Perth on Tuesday night.

Several flights from Australia’s east coast to Bali have been cancelled.

Volcanic ash has risen to 5,500 metres altitude.
Travellers are advised to contact their airline.
A major eruption from the volcano on Sunday killed nine people.

Authorities have been working to evacuate 16,000 people from nearby villages as eruptions continue.
