Seriously Gili Air is heaven on an island. The island is very small can easily be walked around in a few hours or better still hire a bicycle and stop wherever you like. In fact bicycle, foot or cidomo (donkey and cart) is the only mode of transport on this island paradise.

The Gilis are a trio of islands located off the shores of Lombok. The Gilis are unique compared with other popular Indonesian islands such as Bali because you will find no cars, motorbikes or even dogs here.

Instead, the public mode of transport is horse and cart and you can also rent bicycles. Gili Trawangan is the biggest and most popular island, followed by Gili Meno and Gili Air. I stayed on Gili Trawangan and then did a snorkeling trip that went around the other two islands. The main reason why I had wanted to visit the Gilis was to see epic sunsets and to enjoy the nightlife, but it’s also a popular spot for diving.

How to go to GIli Trawangan?
There are few options to get to GiliTrawangan from Bali, by fast boat, ferry, or flight.
