Lempuyang Temple, also known as Pura Lempuyang Luhur, is one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bali, Indonesia. Located at an altitude of approximately 1,175 meters on Mount Lempuyang, this temple is renowned as one of the "Nine Directional Temples" (Sad Kahyangan), believed to protect the island of Bali from negative forces.
This place is also very popular among tourists due to the view of the Gate of Heaven, which offers a dramatic backdrop of Mount Agung, creating a truly stunning scene. Visitors usually need to climb many steps to reach the main temple, but the spectacular views along the way often make the journey worthwhile.
This temple is an important spiritual site for Balinese Hindus, so visitors are expected to wear sarongs, respect the sacred site, and follow the local etiquette.
