A good day at Camp Leakey – Tanjung Puting National Park.
Located in the Tanjung Puting National Park, in the southeast part of West Kotawaringin Regency, in the Indonesian province of Central Kalimantain Central Borneo, Camp Leakey was established in 1971 by Dr. Biruté Galdikas.
It was named after the legendary paleo-anthropologist, Louis Leakey, who was both mentor and an inspiration to Dr. Galdikas as well as Drs. Jane Goodall and Dian Fossey.
As an active research facility, Camp Leakey welcomes day visitors with local guides.

Desa Wisata Sekonyer terletak bersebelahan dengan area Taman Nasional Tanjung Puting.
Awalnya Desa ini berlokasi di Camp Tanjung Harapan. Namun setelah ditetapkannya Tanjung Puting sebagai Taman Nasional, maka penduduk Tanjung Harapan di relokasi ke seberang area Taman Nasional pada Tahun 1971 hingga saat ini.

Sekonyer Tourism Village is located adjacent to the Tanjung Puting National Park area.
Initially this village was located at Camp Tanjung Harapan. However, after Tanjung Puting was declared a National Park, the residents of Tanjung Harapan were relocated to the other side of the National Park area in 1971 until now.
