We will be there upon arrival to show you the area, introduce you to some of our favorite places to eat, arrange a SIM card for your phone or transportation should you require and be available should you need assistance during your stay. The Neighborhood
We share a secret beach with the Ayana Resort. Balangan is a hidden and beautiful beach on the South coast of Bali. It's favoured by surfers for it's consistent barrels and by beach lovers for its clean, golden sand and laid-back vibe. This is the opposite of Kuta. The location is a bit remote and the nearest town of Ungasan is about a 15 minute drive back. Transportation to this area is a bit lacking, since it's far off the main roads, but if you're looking for a bit of refined solitude, this place is perfect. The beach itself goes for about 2km and has white sand, swaying coconut trees, and a very gentle, relaxed atmosphere. The lagoon is good for moderate snorkeling and swimming. Getting Around
We suggest renting a motorbike or car to fully enjoy the area and all it's beautiful beaches. Balangan is great but if you're around for 3-4 days, we suggest you can explore the Uluwatu or Padang Padang areas as well. You can also rent a car as well. Taxis out to this area are a bit expensive since there is a monopoly/cartel in transport service to/from our area. We can help arrange airport pickup. The transfer takes about 45-55 minutes and costs IDR 250,000 (about $20 USD). You pay direct to the driver. Other Things to Note
There isn't a lot of restaurants or dining options in the area. The closest town is Ungasan, where there are supermarkets and a more complete set of restaurants and shopping. People come to Balangan to surf, relax, enjoy the beach, and 'get-away' from Seminyak/Kuta.
