Karimunjawa islands in the Java Sea and still included in the district of Jepara, Central Java. Karimunjawa name comes from the legend of Sunan Muria who ordered his son to an island that looks kremun - kremun of Mount Moriah to deepen and develop the science of religion. Kremun - kremun is a Javanese word which means vague - vague. Because it looks "kremun - kremun Jowo cornerstone" of the island named the island of Karimun.
Karimun islands located approximately 83 km to the north of Jepara. The main potential in Karimun are underwater natural beauty with a variety of marine life. With the potential of marine parks, the Indonesian government set karimunjawa as a national park since 2001 under the name National Park Publications.
Karimunjawa National Park consists of a cluster of 27 small islands. Of these there were only 5 populated islands, among other Karimun Island, Genting Island, Kemujan Island, Mosquito Island and Parang Island. Each island has a beautiful beach which is amazing. The wealth of marine life in Karimunjawa diverse genus reached 51, with more than 90 species of coral and 242 species of ornamental fish. A variety of land animals can also meet in Karimun, such as deer, long-tailed macaques, 40 species of birds such as green pergam, sea eagle white chest, trocokan or yellow-vented bulbul, parrot, as well as hawksbill and green turtles. For the record, Karimunjawa National Park is one of the few places that you can visit to see the sea eagle white chest, hawksbill and green turtles are endangered species are endangered.
