e beach, which is just 50 metres away. Complemented by the magnificent backdrop of Mount Agung and you begin to understand why Villa Anggrek is such a special place. The villa is managed by the European owners of the neighbouring Kubu Indah Dive and Spa Resort. Our guests have the flexibility to be self-sufficient but they are also welcome to use the resort facilities, which include an excellent and reasonably priced restaurant, pool bar, wellness spa and dive centre. The Villa
The villa has three large air-conditioned bedrooms (one king, one queen and one twin) all with ensuite bathrooms. The master bedroom has a spacious bathroom with a freestanding bath and views to the ocean. All bedrooms have views over Lombok Strait and double doors opening to the terrace. The spacious living/dining area is comfortably furnished with plush sofas and chairs, television, DVD player and dining table with seating for six. The modern European kitchen is well-equipped to allow guests to prepare their own meals. Alternatively, guests may ask for meals from the resort restaurant to be delivered to the villa. Breakfast at the resort restaurant is included in the daily tariff. The housekeeper cleans the villa twice daily and is available throughout the day to assist you with personal laundry. All linen, towels and beach towels are provided and changed regularly. Pool and Garden
One of the special features of the villa is the 1400 square metre, beautifully manicured garden, complete with an 8x4-metre swimming pool, perfectly positioned to take in the sea views. Relax on one of the sun lounges by the pool or the orbit lounge on the terrace. Meals and drinks can also be enjoyed outdoors on the large terrace or your own private bale bengong (pavilion). Beach
Access to the beach is a short walk through the neighbouring resort. As the beach is made up of large rounded volcanic stones, reef shoes are recommended for getting in and out of the water. Just 10 metres from the shore is a pristine coral reef perfect for snorkeling and diving. The house reef boasts a large variety of hard and soft corals, reef fish and macro critters. Local fishermen store their colourful jukung boats on the beach in front of the villa, and will happily sell you some of their catch when they return mid-morning. Scuba Diving
While Kubu has 10 fantastic dive sites of its own, including a wreck dive, the villa is only a 10-minute drive from the world-class diving at Tulamben, famous for the USS Liberty wreck. The resort dive centre schedules two to three guided dives daily and can look after all of your diving needs including courses and equipment hire. Security
For your safety and security the villa can be completely locked up and the grounds are patrolled 24/7 by security staff. A safe is provided for your personal valuables. Location
Villa Anggrek is about 2 1/2 hours drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport (Denpasar). Transfers to and from the airport or other locations in Bali are available on request. Kubu is a quiet fishing village with few facilities, however nearby Tulamben has a small supermarket, ATM and several bars and restaurants. Further to the south (around a 20 minute drive) is the Amed region with a string of local villages great for snorkeling, diving, sandy beaches and a great selection of beachfront bars and restaurants. This area of Bali is a photographer’s dream and an excellent base for exploring the region’s many temples and palaces, rice terraces, local markets or maybe even go on a volcano hike.
