To get to Raja Ampat by boat:
🚢 There are daily ferry sailings between 3 Sorong's harbor ferry port and 4 Waisai's harbor in Raja Ampat. Two types of ferries, an express or slow ferry, will get you there in 2 and 4 hours, respectively. As delays may sometimes occur, allow at least 2 hours to connect between the seaport and the airport. Tickets for both sailings can be bought at the wharf and the tourism office.

From Sorong to Waisai, daily ferries depart at 09:00 and 14:00 (Monday to Sunday). From Waisai to Sorong, ferries depart daily (except Saturday) at 09:00 and 14:00. On Saturdays the Waisai to Sorong operates at 09:00 and 12:00. Ferries do not operate on Indonesian public holidays. The journey time is about 2 hours.

🚤 Speedboats can also be rented at a wharf about 200 meters west of the ferry terminal. While it's expensive and less comfortable than a ferry, it can get you there faster.

From Sorong to 5 Fatiga's harbor on the island of Misoul, K.M. Fajar Indah goes from Sorong to Misool on Fridays 23:00 and from Misool to Sorong on Saturdays 13:00. K.M. Fajar Baru goes from Sorong to Misool on Mondays 23:00 and from Misool to Sorong on Thursdays 09:00.

The Komodo National Park was listed as UNESCO’s World Heritage Site in 1991. It is home to fascinating wildlife, both on land and underwater. The park consists of Komodo Island, Rinca Island, Padar Island and numerous smaller islands around them.

Labuan Bajo is known as the city of sunset. You can find plenty of vantage point to enjoy every end of the day with a spectacular sky.

There are some interesting destinations that you can discover inside the city. The Mirror Cave is located only 4 kilometers away from Labuan Bajo. This cave was founded by Dutch archaeologist in 1951, who concludes that Labuan Bajo was once located under water."

August 17 - 23! Dive in KOMODO ISLAND for 7D/6N with our Jaya Liveaboard 💙💙💙

Jaya takes you on a 7-day journey through the central and northern part of Komodo National Park, one of the most biodiverse regions in the world.
Starting and ending our adventure in Labuan Bajo we dive approximately 18 of the most spectacular sites Komodo has to offer. On our way through the National Park we explore the reefs in the north and the central part of the Park. Dive sites visited include Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, Makassar (Manta Point) and Batu Bolong.

Komodo National Park is a landscape of contrasts between starkly rugged hillsides of dry savanna, pockets of thorny green vegetation, brilliant white sandy beaches and blue waters surging over coral, unquestionably one of the most dramatic landscapes in all of Indonesia.
The marine area constitutes 67% of the Park. The various habitats harbour more than 1,000 species of fish, some 260 species of reef-building coral, and 70 species of sponges. Dugong, sharks, manta rays, at least 14 species of whales, dolphins, and sea turtles also make the Park their home.

JAYA is a very strong, capable and comfortable boat, completely hand built over the course of 18 months and looks stunning with her six sails up, designed from the keel up to appear as a Phinisi sailing schooner, using traditional methods that have served the Bugis people of South Sulawesi for centuries.

Komodo National Park includes one of the richest marine environments including coral reefs, mangroves, seagrass beds, seamounts, and semi-enclosed bays. 🐚 These habitats harbor more than 1,000 species of fish 🐟🐠🐡, some 260 species of reef-building coral, and 70 species of sponges. Dugong, sharks, manta rays, at least 14 species of whales, dolphins, and sea turtles also make the Park their home. The marine area constitutes 67% of the Park. The open waters in the Park are between 100 and 200 m deep. The straits between Rinca and Flores and between Padar and Rinca, are relatively shallow (30 to 70 m deep), with strong tidal currents. In the North of the Park water temperature ranges between 25 – 29°C. In the middle, the temperature ranges between 24 and 28°C. The temperatures are lowest in the South, ranging from 22 – 28°C. Water salinity is about 34 ppt and the water is quite clear, although the waters closer to the islands are relatively more turbid. 🦑🦀
