Wedding day in our village yesterday. I only went to visit some friends & suddenly found myself in the midst of it all. The excitement is contagious. Everyone is so happy! It's not easy being part of the wedding ceremony. They walk a long way & the drums for example are very heavy. You can see how everyone loves it though & how very friendly everyone is.

Nothing I like better than getting off the beaten track & discovering the hidden gems tucked away in Indonesia. This week I'm in Ubud in Bali. Although Ubud itself is very crowded now you don't have to go far to find beautiful quiet streets where you'll be greeted warmly by friendly Balinese families. This young man had a small business hand crafting these wonderful chickens ( egg baskets.) I wanted to buy a white one & can you believe they didn't have one! 🤣 They were all pre-ordered..but they found me one in the end 🙂
