Some photos from a large group from the Netherlands 2D1N we organised recently. Our porters & guides were paid a bonus for bringing some of the pre-existing rubbish off the mountain.

It's disappointing that every year, unlicensed operators and individuals choose to dump rubbish at campsites instead of doing the right thing and carrying it off the mountain. The National Park could be doing more to police this, perhaps employing Park rangers to rotate through the park. But at the end of the day, it comes down to the individual.

If your planning a trip to to climb do your research, book with a licensed trekking operator who uses a fair ratio of porters to customers (we use 1:1 to keep the weight down).

Our "Safely to School" fundraiser is seeking to raise $20K for the village of Senaru in North Lombok, for a school bus. The primary purpose of the bus will be the safe transport of young children to and from school (as sadly many primary and secondary school children are injured or killed riding scooters). The secondary purpose of the bus will be hospital runs for the aged and infirm.

Big shout out to Tom Sharrow for kicking-off the fundraising effort with a very kind donation of $75, it's much appreciated!
