Indonesia is the sixth-largest cocoa bean producer in the world (ICCO, 2022). Interestingly, 99.44% of Indonesia's cacao production was from smallholders instead of the government or private firms (Badan Pusat Statistik, 2021).

This 3-day tour will illuminate participants on the state of cacao farms owned by smallholders in South Sulawesi. Designed to be more technical than Tracing the Vanishing Aluk To Dolo tour, it will give participants chances to interact with local farmers and understand the current statistics of cacao production in the region and Indonesia. Besides that, the tour will cover sustainability issues and problems farmers face.
