The Kecak Dance is one of Bali’s most prominent cultural showcases, but it isn’t exactly an ‘ancient’ tradition. The dance was created back in the 1930’s, a collaboration between Balinese dancer Wayan Limbak and the German artist Walter Spies.
The Kecak dance had existed prior to this, but as a trance ritual and far from what it has become today… essentially the two artists adapted the famous story of the Ramayana into a theatric display of Balinese dance, with elements of its original ‘cak’ and other incorporations.

Handara Gate is located on a plateau (around 1,400 meters above sea level) and is surrounded by lush green nature. There are many green trees growing around the gate, which adds to the charm and natural beauty there.

In the middle of the gate, there is an asphalt road which provides access for cars and motorbikes to the Handara Golf & Resort area.

This road is quite empty of vehicles and is flanked by land with green grass on each side. Visitors usually really like to take photos right in the middle of the road to get the perfect shot with the arch in the background and the hills behind it.

The Sacred Mandala Wenara Wana or also called Monkey Forest Ubud is a nature reserve and temple complex located in the village of Padangtegal Ubud, Bali. In this place there are approximately 1260 long-tailed monkeys (Macaca fascicularis) (63 adult males, 34 young males, 219 adult females, 29 young females, 167 juvenile 1 (2-3 years), 118 juvenile 2 (1-2 years) ), 63 Infant old (5-12 months) and 56 infant. There are six groups of monkeys that occupy different areas in this forest, namely the Pura group, the New Forest group, the Central Point group, the east group, the Michelin group and the Grave group. It is a popular tourist attraction in Ubud, and is frequently visited by more than 120,000 tourists per month. The forest has an area of ​​approximately 12.5 hectares and is still being expanded to the south of the area[3] and contains at least 186 species. different trees. Monkey Forest Ubud also has three temples named Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal, Pura Beji and Pura Prajapati.This place is located in the village of Padangtegal and is managed by villagers who directly work at the Monkey Forest Ubud.Management Mandala Suci Wenara Wena who manages this place functions to maintain the integrity of the sanctity and to promote the Ubud Monkey Forest as a visiting destination for both domestic and foreign tourists.

Tegenungan Waterfall is a waterfall in Bali, Indonesia. It is located at the village of Tegenungan Kemenuh, also known as Kemenuh Village on the Petanu River in the Gianyar Regency, north from the capital Denpasar and close to the Balinese artist village of Ubud. The waterfall is isolated but has become a popular tourist attraction. It is one of the few waterfalls in Bali that is not situated in highlands or mountainous territory. The amount and clarity of the water at the site depend on rainfall but it contains green surroundings with fresh water that can be swum in. The waterfall includes varying highs that can be climbed after the descent down stairs to reach it. This attraction also features a viewing point to the jungle and waterfall at the main entrance.

Gunung Kawi is an 11th-century temple and funerary complex in Tampaksiring, north east of Ubud in Bali, Indonesia. that is spread across either side of the Pakerisan river. It comprises 10 rock-cut candi (shrines) that are carved into some 7-metre-high (23 ft) sheltered niches of the sheer cliff face. These funeral monuments are thought to be dedicated to King Anak Wungsu of the Udayana dynasty and his favourite queens. On the east side there are five temples that are dedicated, according to one theory, to King Udayana, his queen Mahendradatta, and their sons Airlangga, Anak Wungsu, and Marakata. The temples on the west side are dedicated, according to the same theory, to the king's minor queens or concubines.

Tirta Gangga is a former royal palace in eastern Bali, Indonesia, about 5 kilometres from Karangasem, near Abang. Named after the sacred river Ganges in Hinduism, it is noted for the Karangasem royal water palace, bathing pools and its Patirthan temple. The one hectare complex was built in 1946 by the late King of Karangsem but was destroyed almost entirely by the eruption of nearby Mount Agung in 1963.
Tirta Gangga is based on the beliefs in Balinese Hinduism, where river Ganges and its waters are considered sacred. Its waters are cherished for irrigation and agricultural abundance, recreation and economic activity. The Patirthan temple illustrates the historic significance of Tirta Gangga in the Balinese tradition as a pilgrimage and holy water site.

Galungan is a Balinese holiday celebrating the victory of dharma over adharma. It marks the time when the ancestral spirits visit the Earth. The last day of the celebration is Kuningan, when they return. The date is calculated according to the 210-day Balinese Pawukon calendar.
Galungan marks the beginning of the most important recurring religious ceremonies. The spirits of deceased relatives who have died and been cremated return to visit their former homes, and the current inhabitants have a responsibility to be hospitable through prayers and offerings. The most obvious sign of the celebrations are the penjor - bamboo poles with offerings suspended at the end. These are installed by the side of roads.
