Tír Na nÓg

Tír Na nÓg is a tastefully restored cottage steeped in local history. While planning and overseeing the restoration work, host Ann took care to maintain many of the original features of the cottage itself, as well as the adjoining sheds. Tír Na nÓg is located on three acres of its own grounds, providing a tranquil cottage garden, a courtyard area, woodland, and plenty of free parking.

Located rurally 2.5km outside Balla town, Tír Na nÓg is in driving distance of all modern amenities and the major points of historical and cultural interest – Moore Hall, the Museum of Irish Country Life, and the historical village of Mayo Abbey among them. Castlebar, Westport and Claremorris are in easy reach, and the cottage makes an ideal base for exploring Connemara and the Wild Atlantic Way.

True to its name, which means “Land of Youth”, Tír Na nÓg will provide you with a truly rejuvenating experience, whether you are looking for an active summer holiday wandering the Greenway, or a cosy winter getaway curled up beside a blazing hearth. As one of our guests said: “Stay at least a couple of days, longer if you can make the time. Your soul will be glad you did.”
