A scene straight from poetry ❄️

This quiet lake on the County Sligo-Leitrim border inspired writer W.B. Yeats, whose love for Ireland’s wild landscapes shines in his poetry. Glencar Waterfall, just a stone’s throw from the lake, is described in The Stolen Child as a place where “waters gush” and faeries play. Today, swans glide across the lake in a scene that still carries Yeats’ sense of wonder.

‘Get into the spirit of Christmas with our Christmas Light Switch on Saturday 30th November at 4.00pm in Belleek Village followed by the opportunity to meet Santa Claus at Belleek Pottery in his special Christmas Grotto. Santa Claus will make his way to the pottery once the village tree has been lit, he will take his seat in his special grotto and welcome children from Belleek, Mulleek, Roscor, Bonahill, Corry, Ballyshannon, Clyhore and further afield. He will be waiting to hear how good the girls and boys from the area have been this year and to hear what is on Christmas lists.’

Big news!! Leitrim Cycling Festival will be by the sea!!
Not only can we announce the dates for Leitrim Cycling Festival 2025 already!!!
But this year it will also be combined with the Tullaghan Heritage Festival being organised by the wonderful community group that is Tullaghan Coastal Cross
Yep, we are going to be exploring Leitrim's most northerly point and its 4km of coastline! (as seen on Nationwide yesterday!)
So put those dates in your diary and get planning your trip to Leitrim!!! Whoohoooo!!
