19th November update :

NTA have confirmed that Phase 6A will be delayed and so our 143 and 144 service will continue until at least 29th January 2025.

Absolutely ridiculous traffic around Bray and Greystones … nothing is moving. It just took one of fleet an hour and a half to get from Kilcoole to Little Bray while
other buses are just sitting going nowhere. Apologies, but little we can do!

An incident near Druids Valley on N11 northbound is affecting our service. Buses are diverting onto M50 to avoid the area but traffic backed up back to shankill and the M50 merge south of the hospital

29th October 2024 update :

NTA have confirmed to us via email that having done a month by month renewal in recent times it is now a short renewal of contract and their expected new date for phase 6a is now December 8th 2024.

So it looks like Friday 6th December will be our last day of providing our 143 and 144 routes.

It is an end of an era for Finnegan Bray. Eugene Finnegan came up with the local routes years ago and was the first operator to create a night bus, but that is worth a separate post.

A big thank you to our drivers who often went out when other operators did not in conditions such as snow and heavy rain to make sure people got home as well as looking after and returning lost property.

We would also get phonecalls in the office asking “when is the next bus?” or “can you just ask him to wait two minutes in Sandyford , I am running down the road from work?” so thanks also to staff for who have handled countless calls and queries over the years.

Apologies but looks like there will be no service at 1245,1315,1345,1415 from Southern Cross and no 1300,1330,1400,1440 from dart

We are trying to find an alternative and will update if we can 😢

We are getting lots of queries and getting tagged on posts about BusConnects and its next phase , phase 6 which is due to start in November 25th

Busconnects has been discussed for years, and back in 2019 we encouraged everyone to attend the public meeting in The Royal Hotel.

We have a general understanding of the plan but have no actual confirmed information on things like actual start dates and timetables.

We are awaiting official communication from the NTA (National Transport Authority) and so when we know we will
let you know!

Sooooo sorry but things got a bit muddled this afternoon so the 17:15 from Sandyford is running late (probably 20 minutes) and so the 18:00 from Southern Cross and the 18:45 from Sandyford might also be affected. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Bus Eireann school routes start on Monday 26th August 2024 - unless the school opens later that week such a primary schools or East Glendalough School on Tuesday 27th .

Coláiste Chraobh Abhann Kilcoole passengers please take note as though we saw on the school calendar that CCA opens on the Friday before on the 23rd , Bus Eireann has confirmed that services are to start on Monday 26th.

Tuesday 2nd July morning: Total gridlock around Bray Main Street and Southern Cross Road and parts of M11 not moving.

Unfortunately we are hearing reports of accidents etc so no feedback yet on how long the traffic jams will continue.
