It's coming to that time of year again and I am absolutely delighted to be involved again with this wonderful programme organised by 😁
It's the perfect way to get through January and a quick look at the timetable will show you there are classes and events to suit everyone 😀
Incredible value at €55 for 4 full weeks of activities and even better value if you join before the 20th of December and get the early bird price of €40!!! 🥳
This is a fundraiser for the club, so whether you want to get fitter or just have fun, you will also be supporting them and helping them continue their fabulous work in the community 😀
Every year this programme goes from strength to strength and there is always a wonderful supportive atmosphere and many laughs 😁 And who knows, you might find a new hobby 😀

What an afternoon 🥰
After being stuck in the house for longer than I can deal with due to the overly dramatic Darragh, I had to get up a hill before my head melted 🫠
Although what was supposed to be a quick boot up to Foxes Rock for Sunset soon turned into a 3 hour wander on an incredibly beautiful day and I had to force myself to come back down 🤗
Nothing better for the mind and soul than to sit at the top with a flask of tea and watch the Sun setting behind our gorgeous Cooley Mountains 😍
I took several thousand photos and I definitely think the clouds made a dolphin shape at one point...see photo 1!!! Could be just that the wind blew my brain around making me see things though because it was a teensy bit windy 🤣🤣🤣
Anyhow, all grumpiness and negativity caused by my enforced captivity have been banished 🥳 I can always count on the outdoors (and animals) to sort me out 😁
Massive hugs to you all for the week ahead 🤗

Hello!!! 😁
So for those that know me and have hiked with me you are probably sick of hearing me say that Hiking is for life, not just for summer!! 🤣🤣🤣
For me personally, it is more important to keep getting out during the shorter, darker days. It's completely possible as long as you are properly suited and booted and plan your routes with care.
Anyhow, if you don't fancy doing it on your own I have plenty going on for December and I would love to have you join me 🤗

Some dates are unavailable due to private bookings but maybe there is something here to suit 🤗

What a fabulous couple of days down in Killarney at the annual .iaat conference 😀
Wonderful to put faces to the names of other members and get a fresh burst of energy from the chats and support 😀
A massive thank you also to Natalie and the wonderful staff in for a fantastic ride through Killarney National park 🤗 Fell in love with the super fun wee mare, Shian, who I was so lucky to be paired up with 🤗 Incredible morning 😁
The afternoon was spent kayaking on the shiniest, silver lake, past Ross Castle and over to an island with it's beautiful abandoned monastery as the Sun was setting behind the Reeks. Just perfect 🥰 Huge thanks to for a truly brilliant time 🤗
And sure we had the absolute best driver and guide ..the always amazing from and 🤩 Thanks so much for ferrying us around 🤗
For any adventure tourism businesses out there, small or large, I highly recommend joining .iaat . The support from them over the last few years has been invaluable to me. Thank you to everyone at the conference for making a socially awkward (when indoors in polite society 🤣) person, feel so welcome 🤗

Over the winter months I will be having some Short & Sweet but Steep hikes to allow us to maintain our fitness without being out too long 😁
To kick-start these we will be heading up to Ballyoonan Cross with it's gorgeous views over Omeath and Carlingford Lough. This is a wonderful hike that has all the hard work done in the first third 😉

Dark evenings, fog, rain, wind or cold... nothing stops these superstars 😁
Some days they definitely regret their life choices 🤣 but they keep going and they keep smiling 😃
I am so lucky to get to hang out on the hills with them! Massive thanks to the parents/guardians who always make the effort to take them and put up with mucky kids getting back into their cars 🤣

A wonderful mix of regulars and new faces aswell as the fabulous ladies who chose a Hen Party hike and the lovely lads having their annual friends reunion 🤗
Also had a super fun town tour with a great group of women who blew me away with a gorgeous impromptu song under the Abbey arch 😍

A few from a gorgeous hike up Carrauntoohil on Friday 😁 Someone was looking down on us because as we were sheltering at the top having our tea in the mist and rain, the clouds suddenly cleared and we were treated to truly beautiful views on all sides 🤗 Some super sore hail showers on the way down ( natures microneedling 🤣) but the skies stayed clear 😀

Well that was an immense amount of fun 😁 The Equinox was marked with a weekend of Sunset hikes, Sunrise Strolls and camping under the moonlight on the hills with the most fabulous humans for company 😍
The Sun was playing hide and seek but she finally broke through the clouds to say hi 🤗
The chats and laughs were just brilliant and who would have thought there would be hot apple tart and custard around the campfire 🤣
Thank you so much to everyone who joined me and those that helped make it happen...yis are mighty 🤩

For once I am struggling to find the words to properly explain what happened last night 🤗
After a day of stubborn clouds sitting on top of the hills, an army of the most wonderful women arrived on to the Cooley Mountains and not even the weather was strong enough to deny them the super beautiful Sunset and Moonrise we received 😍
The laughter, the positivity and the sheer energy of these incredible humans turned what was already a fantastic evening into what became a truly magical night 🤗
Thank you all so very, very much 🤗
I have a pain in my face from smiling 😃
I am in awe of you all 🤗

Well Sweet Nelly Furtado!! I am an absolute muppet!! 🤪 I have been so busy building my wee business and having the best craic walking the hills, doing history tours and chatting on the oul tinternet with all you wonderful humans (mixed with a lot of sleepless, panicky, anxiety ridden nights also 🤣) that I completely missed my 5 year anniversary back in June!! 😂😂😂 5years!! I can't believe it!! From my first tentative town tours and small hikes to the excitement of putting together new trails and walks on the hills at all hours of the day and night, getting to add a wild style campsite and music sessions on the mountains it has been the most incredibly fantastic fun 🤩 None of which I could have done without the amazing support of all of you! 🤗 Especially through the madness of the poxy virus which I definitely wouldn't have survived without you all 🤗 Thank you from the bottom of my heart 😍 I will have to try to make it to 6 years and celebrate that instead 😂 Have a fabulous week wherever you are and remember it's never too late to change your life!
