Sandbrook house is a beautiful country home situated in Co Carlow. It sits on 25 acres of land with Sandbrook is calm and quiet, elegant, warm and friendly.

The essence at Sandbrook is flexibility and wanting you to feel truly at home. Surrounded by lush green lands and gardens, providing the perfect setting for walking or just relaxing with friends and family. There is a variety of sporting activities, local attractions, and parks and gardens to visit. Savour Kilkenny, The Borris House Festival of Writing and Ideas and Wexford Festival Opera, which i

s under an hour’s drive away, are just some of the food and arts festivals in the area and Sandbrook is within easy reach of Waterford and the sunny south-east and Kilkenny is a 45 minute drive away. Local attractions include Huntington Castle, located in Clonegal, Co. Carlow, Altamont House and Gardens and Wicklow Mountain National Park. The nearest towns are Tullow, Bunclody and Carlow is 15 minutes away. There is horse riding, hiking, shooting (at Coollattin), golfing and fishing for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits. The closest airport is Dublin which is a 1 hour, 15 minute drive. The inviting house is full of character and stylish in an easy way with lovely interiors, recently refreshed by Bella (Interior Designer www.bellahuddart.com) consisting of an eclectic blend of antique and contemporary furniture, carefully chosen fabrics and intriguing art from all over the world. There are 5 principle double rooms elegantly decorated on the first floor, 2 family rooms and a single bedroom which sleeps 10 on the second floor and a self-contained flat comprising 2 double rooms with its own bathroom and kitchen. The end reception room can be used for civil wedding ceremonies and if required local caterers can be suggested, although you are at liberty to select your own. With five interconnecting reception rooms downstairs, an outside covered terrace, huge lawn space and a pretty separate barn space for entertaining and weddings, there is a vast array of facilities should you wish to bring a group. Personal attention to detail and impeccable hospitality are evident throughout Sandbrook, with log fires burning in the hearths and fresh flowers in the hall ways, giving the house a welcoming/cosy and homely feel. The house is wonderfully adaptable to suit your needs. If you choose Sandbrook as a wedding venue, you can have a large gathering with a marquee for 100 people or more on the lawns. Alternatively create a more intimate day by using the house. It easily accommodates a buffet style up to 100 guests or you can have a sit down wedding breakfast for 30 people in the dining room. The very pretty rustic barn space can accommodate up to 60 people seated or have a marquee in the courtyard. Barbeque, wi-fi (internet), Sonos sound system are available and Sandbrook is dog and children friendly and they will be busy enjoying the acres of space and fresh air to run around in! There are restaurants, cafes, B&B’s and farm shops all within easy reach and we can recommend our favourite local catering company who works frequently at the house. Above all, Sandbrook is a family house offering comfort and charm and every effort is made to ensure that you feel at home.

It started with the spiral in brick… then the zinc pot that I found then this lawn that I wanted to make more romantic to this, today which will finish planting tomorrow .. thank you for helping me decide what to plant … also Nick for all his incredible hard work to make and maintain this garden with me .. I love a good hexagon following a good spiral and as some people may have gathered I love roses with a passion … a garden never stops growing in your head … it’s all a bit haphazard my head but as long as I follow it through there is no greater pleasure .. (even if I don’t always get it right !!) … my dearest late father was obsessed by roses and always said just plant loads as soon as u find a garden u will never regret it … he was so right !

So proud of the wonderful team here … what a beautiful table scape created this weekend for our clients here at Sandbrook … guests celebrating a birthday and we wish them such a happy time. Congratulations team this is beautiful and to future guess, , please be in touch if you want to celebrate a special moment in you life. Our rustic barn and bar area is a gorgeous place to create wonderful memories and Sandbrook sleeps up to between 27 -31 people so you get to hang out with the people you love for a whole weekend !

Our barn laid up for our guests this weekend by our wonderful team here … we have had over 150 people thro this house since Easter to celebrate various moments in their lives .. 2 fiftieths.. 2 over flow weddings for and in between we have snatched moments for ourselves .. so grateful to all who make it work for Sandbrook and its many guests … please be in touch if you have some ideas for your own occasions that need to be cherished or celebrated .. we can accommodate whole house bookings sleeping up to thirty people or individual b and b bookings for our appartment sleeping up to four or our loft space which is a self contained area with a family room with two double beds and kitchen …

Beautiful sunshine this morning in Sandbrook .. we are just getting into growing tulips properly these vases fulls lift my heart each morning .. so watch this space for next years tulips … I am on it !! We so love our rustic barn for entertaining … it’s got such a great energy and always feels like there has been life going on in this space for hundreds of years … so important to use these old buildings and breath new contemporary life back into them .. we took out a rotten floor to open it all up and created a view to the garden … it makes the house really flow!

An insight into the inviting, elegantly bespoke, calm and quiet bedrooms of Sandrook house.
As a total we sleep up to 30 people, including our joining apartment and intimate loft.
For gatherings of large groups Sanbrook house is the perefct place to come and stay. It is surrounded by beautiful irish countryside yet close to many attractions of which the whole family can enjoy.
On the first floor there is 5 elegantly decorated double rooms, 3 bathrooms, ensuite off the master bedroom, and an adjoining self contained apartment with 2 double rooms and its own kitchen, living space and bathroom.
On the second floor then we have 2 cosy familly rooms that each contain 1 double bed and 3 single beds. There is also 1 twin room, making the second floor sleep up to 12 people close by but cosy and comfortably so that parents can be close to their kids.
So with the 5 interconnecting reception rooms which include 1 music room, 1 family tv room, 1 library room, 1 large dining room and our warm and homely kitchen, and our large beautiful gardens, Sandbrook is the perfect home away from home getaway for large groups/families to make memories that last forever.

This is a rather rare and gloroious species found in Carlow occasionally pulling pints of the holy grail GUINNESS #guinness did u know it’s utterly good for you it reaches part of your brain never found by any other liquid … I have this on good guiness authority !spesh in Ireland where it is a totally different drink apart from at the @thecowlondon this florabird can sometimes be spotted pulling pints in Ireland .. we love her and she sings as heard here … well hums anyway of sorts btw a keg lasts precisely half a minute when my brood are around just to warn !!!!
