Am making the best sticks I've ever done so I went sideways and started making these electric fence testers for the Loop Head Tourism Board of directors. Use it to check an electric by the handle as they would and you get the electric shock 5k volts. Normal people would hook it on the fence, holding it by the shaft and touching the ground.

A Blackthorn walking stick tree with its fruit

I learned long ago that no Irishman will ever pay your price for a Blackthorn Walking Stick, atleast that is the way it is here in the West. The farner man will say,"I'm not paying that, I can just go and cut my own out of a hedge" I say, "Go ahead just try to find one." Sometimes a farmer who really wants to find one will meet me in the local Pub and buy me a few pints and ask me my secret to finding a straight, large k**b stick and naturally I cave in after awhile and tell him , " You need to develope an eye for seeing the stick through the trees, they grow upside down!"
