And just like that summer '24 is gone and we're into September....tho the weather over the weekend was absolutely amazing!

Thanks to all the wonderful families that stayed with us over the last couple of months, it's brilliant to meet new and returning guests, some of whom have been staying with us for years now!

We do however have limited availability for September.

Welcome to West Cork Escape on the Wild Atlantic Way. We are located just outside Clonakilty, a twenty minute walk or two minute drive from our nearest beach Red Strand.

Our modern self catering property has an open plan kitchen/living area with sea views and double doors opening to a large garden. There are three bedrooms which are all en suite sleeping a maximum of six. There is underfloor heating throughout so it’s always cosy no matter what time of the year! Ideal for families or a group of friends. WiFi and smart tv. Sorry no pets.

We are surrounded by fabulous swimming spots and beautiful beaches, amazing restaurants and lots of activities for children. Check out Clonakilty Model Railway Village, Smugglers Cove www.smugglerscove.ie and The Lagoon Water Park www.lagoonactivitycentre.ie in Rosscarbery, a short drive away. Our nearest playground is very close by.

We are located in the village of Ardfield on the Wild Atlantic Way, 7kms from Clonakilty and Inchydoney and 2 kilometres from Red Strand beach.

Fabulous three bedroom property with stunning views sleeping a maximum of six. All bedrooms are ensuite with walk in wardrobes. The house is fully equipped and has double doors opening out to the garden with sea views. WiFi and smart tv.

And that’s a wrap for summer 2023!

Tomorrow we’ll say goodbye to our last weekly visitors who have stayed with us this summer. Since the middle of June we’ve met such lovely families who have come to enjoy the splendours of West Cork. We’ve also welcomed back many familiar faces who return year on year.

We're really excited about our lighthouse open day next Sunday 30th April hosted by Galleyflash Rowing Club . The gates will be open from 1230-1630, car parking will be available on approach to the lighthouse and it's a beautiful walk into the lighthouse grounds. There will be a shuttle bus running too.

Entry to the grounds is free of charge, to visit the lighthouse tower it is 5 euro per person and for safety reasons only those aged 10 or over may visit the tower.
Galley Head Attendant Keeper Gerald Butler will be giving talks on lighthouse history throughout the day. With thanks to Commissioners of Irish Lights for facilitating the open day.
