Global map of tree canopy height at a 1-metre resolution
🌳🌲🌳🌲 Forests are essential ecosystems that support livelihoods and biodiversity, and proper forest management is an important tool to help mitigate climate change. Protecting forests starts with mapping them.
Leveraging our DINOv2 AI model, Meta and World Resources Institute launched the world’s first open-source, global map of tree canopy height at a 1-metre resolution— enabling the detection of individual trees. Learn more from the WRI team ⬇️
Imagine pre-school children harnessing technology to master the Irish language in an enjoyable way. This will soon be a reality for Naíonra Bhaile Ghib, An Uaimh!
This year – through our Meta Data Centre Community Action Grants – Meta is proud to support Naíonra Bhaile Ghib, an Irish language preschool to purchase state-of-the-art technology so students can engage and interact with their learning tools. We love seeing children explore and connect with each other and find fun ways to grow together. Hear from Treasa Ward, the pre-school director.
Get Meath Growing Awards
Growing community by growing your own fruit and veg! 🥦🌽🫑🍓🍐🍎
Hear from some of the 2023 Get Meath Growing Awards recipients. Meta is proud to have partnered with GIY on a special campaign for communities in Meath. Part of GIY's national Get Ireland Growing campaign to engage and inspire communities around Ireland to come together to grow.
The project empowered Meath groups to engage in a positive food-growing experience and to participate in sustainable action.
LEGO Volunteering - Clonee Data Centre
Inspiring the next generation of creators, problem solvers, inventors and leaders is so much fun! 🤩
The team at the Clonee Data Centre are always willing to share their skills and support local students, so they took part in a volunteering workshop with Learn it - Inspiring the Creators of Tomorrow last month. Volunteering offers the chance for everyone to share in the fun, while
contributing to the richness of the experience for young people involved in FIRST LEGO League UK and Ireland
The volunteers will support our STEAM Meath initiative – a fully-funded STEAM programme for 11 primary and 8 post-primary schools across Meath delivered in partnership with Learn it.
Thank you, Meath!

Dunboyne Playground and Skatepark
Connection starts with community ✨ – that is why we are so proud of having supported the upgrade and redevelopment of the Dunboyne Playground and Skatepark.
Meta’s donation helped Dunboyne Playspace Forum to create an outdoor community space that the entire town can enjoy, both now and as Dunboyne grows.
The Dunboyne Playground and Skatepark is a hub for people to come together, connect and build community. How are you enjoying this new space? Share some memories with us!
Meta Data Center Community Action Grants - St Paul's Primary School
Check out St Paul’s Primary School students immersing themselves in the exciting world of virtual reality! ✨ Meta’s Data Centre Community Action Grants programme enabled students from Navan to use VR technology to cross physical boundaries to view global landmarks. Next on the list is to create their own 360 VR experiences of local landmarks.
📌 In the words of Cecily Gibbons, Assistant Principal – “I have taken my pupils quite literally to Mars for a close up look at the rover. We have been to the summit of the earth's highest peaks, inside the pyramids of Giza and stood atop the Great Wall of China.”
