Our most recent review:

'Absolute perfection' is the only way to describe Willow Cottage.
The home itself is thoughtfully designed and a beautifully finished tribute to comfort and style. It's located in a rural paradise, near fabulous historical and natural beauty in central Ireland.
The country kitchen features everything you need to feed a family or wash its travelling clothes. We availed ourselves of both- washing 2 weeks of laundry and hunkering down for two nights of relaxing dinner at 'home'. The lounge with plush, comfortable seating and Netflix- is perfect after you tire of the beauty outside (never).
The two large, divine bedrooms have gorgeous style and comfy beds. A pretty practical bathroom and breathtaking views, complete the package.
Host Deborah and her lovely family, made our stay so memorable. Deborah was kind responsible and generous. We cannot thank her enough for making our stay perfect. A perfect place for anyone who wants a magical getaway. Do yourself a favour!

Another beautiful sunny day at Willow Cottage. Myself and my little daughter Fiadh finished this flower bed next to the cottage with bark and surrounded it with stone from our field. It really is a beautiful spot for an outdoor lunch 💕

The views from Willow Cottage are really coming to life at this time of year. Everthing is so lush and green, really spectacular!

There is also an abundance of wildlife to watch from this window. The swallows have returned and are busy building their nests. We have several families of starlings, with dedicated parents flying back and forth feeding their young. You can also see foxes & badgers wandering around. But yesterday we were visited by a beautiful deer, she was magnificent to watch as she nibbled the new growth off the trees. The ponies were a bit surprised to see her, so there was lots of snorting and running around.

Pony spotting: The main bedroom isn't the only room for pony spotting, enjoy a cup of coffee in the kitchen while these three ponies peek in at you over the fence!

Today I thought I would do a little post about some of the cleaning products we use at Willow Cottage.

I feel it is very important for all of our cleaning products etc. to be and also . I have been using cruelty free/vegan products for many years in my own home and there is definitely no difference at all in the quality. They clean just as well as all of the other products which you find in your local supermarket and generally the cost the same. So there is no reason that we all shouldn't be using cruelty free/vegan products. Better for our planet & for the environment 🌱

are a great brand and seem to be available in lots of shops. They have everything from cleaning sprays, to soap, dishwasher tablets, laundry liquid etc. So you can buy everything you need in just one brand! Unfortunately the downside of the sprays is they seem to be single use plastics and can't be unscrewed and refilled. Hopefully this is something that they could look at in future... hint hint

are an Irish zero waste brand 💕 they have a fabulous online refilling service and also for sale in but unfortunately they only stock a few products at the minute. Hope to see more in the future 🤞
ie Tru Eco is another Irish brand which prides itself on being vegan and cruelty free. They also are zero waste using recycled plastic and their products can be refilled in many shops including 🌱

Anyways hope this helps and yes I definitely need to do more refilling going forward 😁

A picturesque snowy view from the main bedroom at Willow Cottage this morning ❄️
It might be cold outside, but you could be snuggled up, toasty warm in bed watching the world go by from here. You can even spot Willow munching on her haynet. It is so peaceful and beautiful here.

Thank god it's the weekend!! Hope that everyone had a good week. I've been adding a few little bits to Willow Cottage recently and how cute is this little mirror 💕 I do absolutely love the character of old antique mirrors, but sometimes you can't go wrong mixing old & new.

I actually have two of these gorgeous armchairs in Willow Cottage, I love the splash of colour against the white walls 💕

Another sneak peek at the master bedroom in Willow Cottage. These two beautiful pieces of furniture come from the Cotswolds in England. I love the neutral colour of the wardrobe and dressing table and of course the shape, they compliment the room beautifully. To top it all of... that mirror 💕!!!! I picked that up in this fab antique shop called Mullingar Salesroom, definitely worth a visit.

Any recommendations for other fabulous furniture finds in Ireland???

Keeping Willow Cottage fresh and pretty is very important to me but it is also a great excuse to shop and play with styling.
I've owned this gorgeous zebra carved mask for a long time, I bought it in Tanzania. It has been hung in the many different homes that I lived in, but I felt that the upstairs landing in Willow Cottage needed a little something... so I added this. I think it adds a slightly different vibe, but I love it.

I love exploring antique shops and collecting bits & bobs for Willow Cottage.
This brass teapot comes from an antique shop in Royal Wootton Bassett in the UK, the old scales also comes from the UK and the gorgeous old enamel bread bin is Irish.
I'm sure these old pieces have many a story to tell...
