G'day to the passengers of the Coral Princess. She's on a 111 night world cruise from Sydney to Sydney and left on 30th April. There's About 1600 Aussies and 400 Kiwis on board. There have been huge itinerary changes because of the Suez Canal "situation", so loads of Mediterranean ports were missed. Ports of note so far include Mauritius, Cape Town, Cape Verde and Tangier. There's no "Australia Day in Cobh" celebration today - but expect the pubs to be buzzing!! The ship sails to continue its odyssey around the world at 10pm.

Today, 3rd June, Queen Anne Cunard’s brand new ship, will be officially named in Liverpool at a spectacular event at the Pier Head.
Queen Anne will make her debut in Cobh on Wednesday 05th June. To celebrate her arrival Cobh Tourism will have a performance with Band 1 Brigade - Cork in the Promenade from 1pm.
The Cobh Animation Team and our own Cobh Ambassadors will be out and about to greet the passengers and Cobh Band will play at the quayside to wave her goodbye.
Cunard have a big historical connection with Cobh so it will be great to see Queen Anne docked here for the day.

Today Cobh will commemorate the 109th anniversary of the sinking of the Lusitania.
Ceremonies will commence at the the Old Church at 2.30pm. 170 victims of this war time tragedy were buried here.
At approximately 3.15pm a ceremony will be held at the Lusitania Peace Memorial in Casement Square. Members of the public are encouraged to attend the ceremonies of prayers, musical honours and the laying of wreaths.

We welcome back Regal Princess to Cobh on her transatlantic crossing as she starts her season in Southampton for the Summer.
Cobh Animation Team will be out & about to greet the passengers along with our own Cobh Ambassador volunteers.
There will be music on at The Mauretania Bar with Derek Burke Music from 2pm, also music in Connie Doolan's Pub AND the sun will be shining in beautiful Cobh!!

Great fun with visitors to Cobh trying out a cúpla focal as Cobh Tourism launched an Irish Language bookmark with useful phrases as Gaeilge. The weather certainly didn't dampen anyone's spirits!
As we come to the end of another successful year for Tourism in Cobh, we would like to acknowledge the very many community groups that contribute to this success. Cobh is fortunate to have world class tourism attractions, fantastic places to stay, restaurants and cosy Cafés, lively pubs, a quirky interesting and colourful streetscape and a town that is easy to get to. The Port of Cork brings fabulous cruise ships to our town and excursion providers give passengers a glimpse of the Irish landscape, history, way of life and hospitality. But what makes a good Tourism Town great is the people who go above and beyond to make visitors welcome. Many of these work in tourism, but many others contribute as volunteers because they love where they live and see the value of making a visit to our town special and a wonderful experience that visitors will want to tell others about. So THANK YOU to the Cobh Tourism Ambassadors, Cobh Animation Team , Cobh Tidy Towns , the staff of Cobh Tourist Office , cobh summer swing & the Board members of Cobh Tourism who organise so many events, Cobh Heritage Vintage Era and Cobh Confraternity Band Cobh Band and the committees of Cobh St Patrick's Day Parade and Festival & Cobh People's Regatta Together we make our town Great !
