Jenny joined the team a few weeks ago and
we took a little time away from the office on Thursday to give her a taste of the places we visit first day out so we visited the fantastic heritage centre in Lismore
A big thank you to Alice and all the staff for their hospitality
The VR tour of Lismore castle was amazing and we can’t wait to go back again to try out the escape room
While the weather wasn’t perfect we did have time to see a little of what Lismore has to offer
Some great pubs and cafes and while the hotel is currently closed there are some great AirBnBs
Ballyin house was previously owned by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and they do an excellent afternoon tea on the first weekend of the month

I am lucky enough to live in the beautiful friendly village of Glanworth with so much history on my doorstep

Glanworth castle one of the first Norman castles built in Ireland, glanworth abbey built in 1475 and of course Glanworth Bridge a mid-15th century structure and is said to be the narrowest and oldest public bridge in everyday use in Europe
Then just outside of the village we have Labbacallee or the hags bed as it’s known locally, a megalithic wedge tomb
The Labbacallee Wedge Tomb is Ireland’s largest monument of this type
A small village with a whole lot of history
