We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Cork has been chosen as one of National Geographic’s “BEST OF THE WORLD” destinations for 2025! 🌍

This incredible recognition celebrates the beauty, culture, and vibrant spirit of our city. Each year, National Geographic highlights destinations that showcase the diversity of our world, and it’s an honour for Cork to be included.

Curated by Nat Geo Traveller editors and experts, the list features both up-and-coming spots and timeless locations with something new to offer.

Shandon Bells - like you've never heard them before!

A hilarious take on a much-loved Cork attraction by our friends at Hysterical Histories in this Pure Cork special.

The iconic Shandon Bells is in the heart of Cork City. Dating back to 1722, it was originally built as a chapel of ease to the former St. Mary's Church in Shandon. The tower is visible from many parts of the city, integral to the life and soul of the city's heritage. Climbing up the 136 steps of the Shandon Bells will provide you with outstanding 360-degree views of the city!

Learn history with a large dollop of Pure Cork humour thrown in. Our friends at Hysterical Histories put their own hilarious spin on this iconic Cork attraction. Elizabeth Fort like you've never seen it before!

Sitting on the highground at Barrack St. is Elizabeth Fort. The star-shaped fort was of huge strategic importance to the city and boasts an extensive history, being one of Cork's most historic sites. The fort provides fantastic views of the city and comes with free guided tours of the complex.
