We are so looking forward to our Corkmas Christmas Parade.

It will begin at 6.30pm on Friday November 15th and it will feature amongst others the group LUXe who are makers of landscaped theatre and illuminated spectacles.

The performers dressed as beautifully costumed characters will make their way though the streets of Cork to mark the start of Christmas in the city.

What a night! 🎭There was a magical buzz at the Cork Opera House last night as the beloved musical comedy sketch, Summer Revels, returns after a 29-year hiatus. This iconic show, cherished by generations, is enchanting a new wave of Cork families and tourists alike.

✨ A Legacy Revived
First staged in 1971, Summer Revels became a staple in Cork’s entertainment calendar during the 70s and 80s. Originally a modest amateur production, its charm and wit transformed it into a long-running hit.

🎉 A Show Within a Show
The plot follows the chaotic and hilarious behind-the-scenes antics of the Summer Revels cast and crew. Expect a delightful mix of characters: the diva, the accident-prone clown, the visionary magician, and an overzealous Health and Safety Officer. Their comedic misadventures, combined with musical numbers, circus acts, and magic tricks, ensure there’s never a dull moment. This show had our teenagers in stitches laughing just as much as our 8-year-old and I.

🌟 Star-Studded Cast
Leading the all-Cork cast is the phenomenal Claire O’Leary, recently seen on London’s West End in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Wizard of Oz and Les Misérables. She’s joined by local theatre legends Declan Wolfe, Michael Sands, and Trevor Ryan.

🎶 A Visual and Auditory Feast
The musical numbers are exhilarating, with energetic choreography and powerful performances. Each act is interspersed with comedy sketches, magic, and circus feats, creating a dynamic and engaging experience.

🌞✨ Our Family Adventure at El Delfin Verde! 🏖️🌴

Just back from an incredible holiday at El Delfin Verde in Spain and we can't wait to share our experience with you all! 🌊🌞

From the stunning coastal views to the endless family-friendly activities, this place exceeded all our expectations. 🏖️ Whether it was lounging by the pools, exploring the beautiful villages, or enjoying the nightly entertainment, every moment was unforgettable. 🍹🍴

We stayed in the Mowgli accommodation, which was spacious, luxurious, and had a lovely outdoor area perfect for relaxing, even on rainy days! 🏠🌧️

We also ventured to nearby villages like Begur and Pals, soaked in the rich history and breathtaking views. 🏰 And our day trip to Barcelona was a hit with everyone—Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell, and shopping on Passeig de Gracia made it truly memorable. 🎡🛍️

Something for the weekend Fota House & Gardens- Fota’s Children Literature Festival - “What’s the Story?”!
Sunday 7th July - 10:30-5pm, a storytelling festival for ages 0-12 that includes creative writing, poetry, interactive stories, workshops and more to encourage children to love reading, writing and being all things creative.
Workshops are designed for different ages and tickets are available on our website - link in bio. There will be activity tents, games and fun for all the family, so come down this Sunday, July 7th for a fantastic day out that gets the imagination going!

Ahoy, families and adventure-seekers! Volvo Cork Week will cast off for a day of nautical fun next month at the Family Fun Day on Sunday 14th July. The picturesque waterfront of Royal Cork Yacht Club (RCYC) will transform into a bustling hub of excitement from 12-5pm with a treasure trove of free fun, education, and nautical activities designed to keep young sea-lovers entertained. The adventures will take families across the whole village of Crosshaven from the RCYC to Camden Fort Meagher and everywhere in between.

Don’t miss out on this exciting event that promises to bring the community together for a day of family-friendly fun. Visit the Coastal Market which is bigger than ever this year, with many local producers. Take a coastal walk from the village to Camden Fort (follow map). Enjoy boat trips from the Custom House on the Cailin Ór.

Volvo Cork Week 2024 is also running a colouring competition with some fantastic prizes on the day. Red FM’s Colm O’Sullivan will be broadcasting his afternoon show live from RCYC from 2-6pm. And while families are in Crosshaven, they can also enjoy the famous Piper’s Fun Fair in the village.

The Family Day kicks off a week full of activity for Volvo Cork Week 2024. Racing both inside and outside the harbour at the world-renowned regatta will take place from Monday 15th to Friday 19th July and includes the 1720 European Championships with over 20 1720’s that were designed in Cork, and in addition to that the renowned Beaufort Cup - the biggest one yet - with entries from around the world including USA and Ecuador. This race for international uniformed service personnel, encompasses a race around the Fastnet Rock and back to Cork.
Families wanting to catch a glance of the Harbour Race taking place on Wednesday 17th July, should head to one of the recommended viewing points: Camden and Church Bay in Crosshaven, the new Haulbowline Island Amenity Park, Ringaskddy and the promenade in Cobh.
