Murvagh as it is commonly known is a magnificent par-73 Golf Course and is one of Ireland's finest links golf courses located in County Donegal. The golf course was designed by the master of Irish golf course architecture, Eddie Hackett. Following his designs at Connemara and Waterville Golf Links, the links at Donegal was his third such project and it was destined to be on a similarly grand scale as his two previous creations.
One of the feature holes is 179 metres 5th to a plateau green with Donegal Bay in the background and no bale-out front or sides, a truly magnificent hole. With no fairway, this par 3 is certainly a challenge any day of the year. You could hit anything from an 8 iron on a a calm day to the big dog on a windy day!
Configured in two loops of nine holes, Donegal Golf Links is often described as the Muirfield of Ireland. Donegal Golf Club Murvagh is a challenging course at any time, but when the wind blows it will test very best of golfers to play anything near their Handicap.
