Another great night of boxing at Northside Boxing Club tonight in the cork leagues. We had 2 lads on tonight-Ryan Buttimer and Reece Buckley. Ryan was in 1st and he started very well with he’s combinations and footwork avoiding punches afterwards. 2nd round and he settled down more and landed some lovely lead hooks and back hands. 3rd and final round Ryan began to get involved in a fight with he’s opponent instead of carrying on boxing. Jamie Kelleher,Ryan’s opponent is as tough as they come and was game to stand and fight. 3 great rounds by both lads and Ryan won the contest. A big thank you to Tom Kelleher for the fight tonight .

Reece was the last fight on tonight and he’s opponent was Dylan O Flynn (st colmans). Both lads started well landing back hands. Reece was landing nice jabs in round 2/3 and occasionally landed back hands. It was a close fight as both lads kept coming forward. Reece got the nod on this occasion. Thank you to st colmans for the fight tonight. There was a great crowd tonight and some great fights. Well done to all the judges/referees who did the fights tonight. Shane Forde did a great job matching the fights for tonight’s bill and Louise Forde did all the boxing books. Thank you to the MC John Casey for announcing the fights and decisions.Everyone at the top table kept the bill going throughout the evening 👏

A great start to the cork leagues tonight down at Northside Boxing Club. We had 2 lads on doing exhibitions -Darragh cairns/cayden Sheehan. Both lads put in fantastic performances for the 3 rounds.. Darragh is the coolest lad I have seen for his age (9)and a lovely technical boxer. Caryden loves a good scrap and he had 1 tonight. The headgear unfortunately wasn’t great on him and we had to fix it a few times during the fight. Overall myself and Sarah Kelly were very happy with both lads. There was great fights matched tonight and the crowd loved everyone of the fights. Roll on next Tuesday night for the 2nd night of the cork leagues

3 boxing classes on today-underage/junior and seniors. Since the weather is bad there will be plenty of work to be done indoors. The juniors as usual on a Friday will help us out with the underage class from 5.30-6.30pm and senior class at 6.30-8pm. Please everyone be on time and finish off the week with a final big effort. We will also be giving out the best trainer of the week to our underage class so get stuck in today Northside Boxing Club🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊

A big thank you to John Morrissey from golden gloves boxing club for getting us 3 fights on their show today. 1st in was Leah cairns in an exhibition against Ellie Murray. Both girls gave it everything inside those ropes today and gave a great display of boxing. Next in was Ryan Buttimer. Ryan gave away a lot of weight with he’s opponent weighing in a lot heavier than him. Ryan had a slow start in round 1 but rounds 2/3 he came back faster/stronger and landed lovely body punches and straight back hands and got a majority decision 2-1 at the final bell. Last but not least in was Reece Buckley . Reece started the 1st round well landing great combinations on he’s opponent. 2nd round Reece took the foot off the pedal and left his opponent back into the fight. Round 3 Reece got back on his bike and landed nice punches but unfortunately the decision went against him. All in all myself and Sarah were very happy with our 3 boxers🥊👏🥊
