Planning to hike to the Cliffs? Here’s what you need to know:

❌ The coastal trail south of the Visitor Centre is fully closed and unlikely to reopen in 2025.

⚠ The trail from Doolin is partially open - you can follow it as far as Surfers Path, but then you’ll need to turn back and cannot reach the Visitor Centre on foot (access is only via the main entrance). These closures are in place for essential safety enhancements as parts of the trail are deemed to be unsafe.

But don’t worry - there’s another way to experience Ireland’s Most Famous Cliffs!

2024 was a year to remember at Doolin Ferry! So many highlights from announcing our new ship build at the start of the season, celebrity visits and multiple awards to witnessing a wedding proposal onboard. Then there was dolphin spotting, puffin watching, incredible views, blue sky days, an Indian Summer and a Northern Lights spectacle ! But most of all, what stands out are the smiling, happy faces as visitors from near and far enjoyed a trip on the ferry to the Aran Islands or a boat tour beneath the Cliffs of Moher. Bill O’Brien’s established the now iconic but once (can you imagine!) didn't exist passenger ferry service between Doolin to the Aran Islands in March 1970. Year after year as his business, family and crew grew he constantly set new standards in passenger comfort and speed. Today joined by his son Liam they provide the fastest crossing to the Aran Islands in just 15 minutes on the Doolin Express. The first boat on Irish waters to use anti-sea sickness technology.
