At Irish Day Tours, our team members are the cornerstone of our success. Today, we're thrilled to spotlight Martin, our Tourist Office Supervisor!

Originally from France, Martin has been with us for nearly 3 years. As a Supervisor, he manages the team at our Tourism Office in College Green, ensuring drivers and guides have everything they need to succeed. He also checks that the tours and attractions visited are running smoothly. Martin is also committed to superior customer service through his daily interactions with customers, from recommending tours to selling products to emailing.

Martin's favorite part of his job is the flexibility and atmosphere. Irish Day Tours values work-life balance, and the team is always eager to collaborate. Martin has a strong passion for tourism and is grateful for the opportunity to help tourists explore Ireland.

His favorite work memory was when visitors surprised him with food as a thank you from a restaurant he had recommended to them!

Cahir Castle, a stunning medieval fortress in County Tipperary, has served as the backdrop for several notable films. One of its most prominent appearances is in The Last Duel (2021), directed by Ridley Scott and starring Matt Damon, Adam Driver, Jodie Comer, and Ben Affleck. The film, set in 14th-century France, uses Cahir Castle to portray a medieval French château, adding authenticity to its dramatic narrative about betrayal, honor, and justice. Other productions filmed at Cahir Castle include Excalibur (1981), which depicts the Arthurian legend, Barry Lyndon (1975), The Green Knight (2021) and episodes of The Tudors, a historical drama series focusing on the reign of King Henry VIII. Cahir Castle's picturesque setting on the River Suir makes it a perfect filming location, blending history with cinematic storytelling.
