Carly Keegan is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin, where she received an M Phil in Irish Art History in 2013. She is particularly interested in monuments and Art in public spaces. She researched and designed a cultural walking tour exploring the history and stories of the monuments on the central median on Dublin's O'Connell Street. The tour discusses the monuments within the overall context of

the history and development of O'Connell Street as a main thoroughfare in Dublin City. There are seven monuments erected on the central median spanning over three centuries, each with a unique and fascinating story to tell. The parade of monuments are predominantly nationalist in character and form a significant part of Irish cultural identity. The idea evolved through her own personal interest in Visual Culture, Irish History, her experience as a teacher and as a masters graduate at Trinity College Dublin. She enjoys interacting with others and has a passion for sharing knowledge. She would like to utilize her work experience and education to develop this cultural tour to new audiences. An Exploration of the Monuments on O'Connell Street featured as part of Dublin's Five Lamps Arts Festival in April 2013, March 2014, 2015 and 2016.
