This is the wreck of the Dynas a Milford Steam trawler which ran abound in 1936. The crew were unharmed but despite best efforts she could not be te floated and was cut up and scrapped by a London scrap merchant. The steel was taken to a shed in at the Carrig Rua Hotel and the boat was declared a complete loss in September 1937. A footnote is that just across in the channel at Hornhead lies the wreck of the Honora Evelyn an adapted Steam trawler which was being used to carry away the scrap from the Dynas was also lost after running in the rocks and getting wrecked in a storm. The remains of the Dynas appear periodically especially after easterly gales and then gets covered up by the sand again. All that remains of her is the Keell Band. -Moses Alcorn

So the coastal erosion of the winter has revealed this ship wreck at Killyhooey in Dunfanaghy. Does anyone know the history of the boat ?
