We're visiting the Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre today. This major Battle in 1690 not only affected the history of Ireland but changed the course of European history forever.
Touring Desmond Castle in Adare is always a hit with my groups. It is such a well preserved castle, maintained by the OPW. A great example of the medieval history of the lovely village of Adare.
It's been many years since I was at The Bunratty Folk Park. What a pleasant surprise! There is lots to do and see including the castle, craft shops, the village, and Bunratty House. Very well done and an excellent day stop for a tour.

We ended our tour on the fabulous Cantabria Coast and Santander,Spain. There was fabulous scenery and the cutest sea lions who insisted on posing for photos.

It's been 14 years since I walked the Camino Portuguese and passed through Ponte de Lima. Today I was here with a tour group. Despite not walking, being back on the Camino has been a very moving experience.
Took a group from this lovely vessel to Jameson yesterday. What a fine job they've done after the horrible floods of last September. Always a great place to visit!

On a gorgeous late spring day, the small village of Bruree, Co. Limerick ticks all the boxes: the River Maigue, a mill, the ruin of an Anglo-Norman tower house, and charming cottages lining the road.

A huge thank you to all of you who took the time to send birthday wishes yesterday! I am REALLY glad Meta got their platform back up and running before my birthday because I would have HATED to miss all the greetings from friends and family near and far. It is one of the best things about Facebook that we can stay connected throughout our lives with people with whom we would otherwise lose touch. Thank you again. It was lovely to hear from you all.

Today in Valencia the ofrendas began. Each group of falleros parades to the statue of LaVirgen to offer flowers to complete her mantle. They wear the traditional valencian dress and are usually accompanied by a band.
