Wouldn’t it be fantastic if Shannon Airport had the ambition to add a schedule to Santiago de Compostela (and the wider Galicia region) to serve half our country?
Flights from Dublin have gone from 3 a week to 9 a week in the last decade, 2024 was a record year for Irish on the Camino, but still we will complain that Dublin gets all the gigs. A no-brainer to me, but what would I know?

The Sesame Street effect - it’s the people that you meet when you’re walking down the street! Great to catch up with some friends from previous Camino Groups trips last Saturday in Drogheda🤗.

Around 100 people gathered together in Drogheda, just before walking the 25km Boyne Valley Camino.
This qualifies as the first 25km of the the Celtic Camino; combined with the 75km from A Coruña to Santiago de Compostela, you can get your Camino cert (the ‘Compostela’) upon finishing in Santiago.
Our next group for this route heads out on October 25th; to get more information on our 2025 trips, make sure you’re on our mailing list!
Sunday’s walk was another great day out; run in collaboration with our friends in . Roll on the next adventure!

Rosalia de Castro was possibly Galicia’s most important cultural figure; she died here in Padrón in 1885. Padrón is famous for being the reputed landing spot for St. James’ body way back when and also gives its name to the delicious pimientos de Padrón. The penultimate stop along the Camino Portugués, there’s a lot going on here!

Walk the final section of the Camino Portugués from Valença do Minho to Santiago, with hatha and restorative yoga from a trained practitioner as a central part of your week’s journey.
September 13th to 20th at just €750 pps (single supplement €250) - that’s a whopping €545 per person cheaper than the exact same week offered by another Irish camino company as seen by me today! Hard to believe, but there you go…

This is an incredible bunch of students setting off on their Camino trip today. Drawn from across a number of different schools, they are part of a fund-raising effort for the amazing - they have raised a staggering €55.000 for the foundation. Amazing students, amazing charity; it’s so exciting to be able to help them on their way!

This group of 30 is walking the Camino Finisterre and then on to Muxía and then finally with 24 hours in A Coruña. Half the group were on a Rory’s Travel Club walk from Valença to Santiago in 2023 and they have come back for more! Just goes to show that the connection with is growing - with a new idea in store for 2025 to give even more people access to group Camino tours!
