Day 3 of the Cawley Camino, setting off from Pontesampaio, Santiago here we come!
The Sesame Street effect - itâs the people that you meet when youâre walking down the street! Great to catch up with some friends from previous Camino Groups trips last Saturday in Droghedađ€.
Around 100 people gathered together in Drogheda, just before walking the 25km Boyne Valley Camino.
This qualifies as the first 25km of the the Celtic Camino; combined with the 75km from A Coruña to Santiago de Compostela, you can get your Camino cert (the âCompostelaâ) upon finishing in Santiago.
Our next group for this route heads out on October 25th; to get more information on our 2025 trips, make sure youâre on our mailing list!
Sundayâs walk was another great day out; run in collaboration with our friends in . Roll on the next adventure!
Before and after! One more day to go, but the walking is done! A fabulous week, nearly there.
Rosalia de Castro was possibly Galiciaâs most important cultural figure; she died here in PadrĂłn in 1885. PadrĂłn is famous for being the reputed landing spot for St. Jamesâ body way back when and also gives its name to the delicious pimientos de PadrĂłn. The penultimate stop along the Camino PortuguĂ©s, thereâs a lot going on here!
And we are off - again! Another group with - we are starting off from Valença on the Spain-Portugal border, 120 km to Santiago. Vamos chicos!
Our favourite spot for group photos in Santiago - see can you spot the two imposters? This is our group that walked the final section of the Camino Primitivo, from Lugo to Santiago, in association with - same route already in the pipeline for 2025!
First ever group trip from Lugo on the Camino Primitivo - another group in association with . How it began, how it went during the day and how it finished.
Our last group trip in 2024 with availability!
Walk the final section of the Camino PortuguĂ©s from Valença do Minho to Santiago, with hatha and restorative yoga from a trained practitioner as a central part of your weekâs journey.
September 13th to 20th at just âŹ750 pps (single supplement âŹ250) - thatâs a whopping âŹ545 per person cheaper than the exact same week offered by another Irish camino company as seen by me today! Hard to believe, but there you goâŠ
Contact Camino Groups directly for full details - just 3 rooms left. Of course, the yoga is optional - but itâs still a snip!
This is an incredible bunch of students setting off on their Camino trip today. Drawn from across a number of different schools, they are part of a fund-raising effort for the amazing - they have raised a staggering âŹ55.000 for the foundation. Amazing students, amazing charity; itâs so exciting to be able to help them on their way!
The Rose of Tralee gang (roses and escorts!) are starting their Camino today - as a fundraiser for the amazing . Buen Camino to you all!
This group of 30 is walking the Camino Finisterre and then on to MuxĂa and then finally with 24 hours in A Coruña. Half the group were on a Roryâs Travel Club walk from Valença to Santiago in 2023 and they have come back for more! Just goes to show that the connection with is growing - with a new idea in store for 2025 to give even more people access to group Camino tours!
Two Marias and a whole host of lunatics, loving it đ€.
This is where the Celtic Camino begins - outside St. Jamesâs Church in the heart of Old Coruña. Combine 25km in Ireland with the 73km to Santiago from here and it qualifies you for the Compostela, the completion cert of the Santiago de Compostela.
Celtic Camino here we come! Evening meal in A Coruña before setting off in the morning.
Finnegan has fallen in love with all things Spain, especially the cupcakes!
At the Holiday World Show in Dublin, sure only mad for the chats - at stand N13 just beside the main Spain pavilion.
Itâs Belfast for this weekend - the Holiday World Show is on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Titanic Exhibition Centre - anybody looking for travel ideas for 2024?!
Pilgrims from all over the world have walked the Camino de Santiago trails across Europe for centuries, making their way to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, North-West of Spain.
More than a pilgrimage, the Camino is an unforgettable experience and a unique journey. Their self-guided tours cover everything from individuals and couples to large groups. Self-guided tours are where your tour package and itinerary are created for you, and off you go!
A typical package would include flights, accommodation, airport transfers, bag transfers, walking notes and directions and your pilgrim passport, while we can also include travel insurance where required. đâïžđđ

So exciting!
An interesting article published by Michelle after walking on the Camino coastal route from Porto. Using the Porto service from Shannon Airport was a bonus, along with some Camino shopping in Venture Out in Ennis!

My favourite group photo of the Cawley Camino group as we get ready to head home from the Camino PortuguĂ©s - in Vila do Conde. Roll on next yearâs adventure!
In the corner of the church of St James in Santiago, a stone statue of Santiago watches over pilgrims beginning their Camino from here. Itâs the starting point of the Camino InglĂ©s route from A Coruña, 75km from Santiago. When paired with a recognised and certified 25km walk in Ireland, this meets the criteria for qualifying for your Camino cert (the âCompostelaâ); a minimum of 100km and finishing in Santiago itself.
There are very few people who can say that they had a leading influence on the development of the Camino De Santiago, but John Brierley was one. The father of the modern guidebook - we all have one somewhere! I had the pleasure of meeting John in Dublin a few years ago, a gent. Sad news today, rest in peace John; may your guides continue to help thousands more pilgrims as they have done in the past.
Such a lovely message from one of our members who did the Camino last week âŹïž
We have another 4 groups doing the Camino this year with Eoin from Camino Groups
