I had the pleasure of travelling with group from down to South Galway. Visting the amazing Kilmacdaugh Monastery with the highest Round Tower in Ireland at 34.5 metres (113 ft) and then onto in Kinvara, the most photographed castle in Ireland.

Wonderful day out around Connemara, visiting which was the home to the feared O'Flaherty Clan whose motto was "Fortune favours the strong" and they ruled Connacht for around 300 years.
The views from the Sky Road near Clifden are stunning, looking out onto Clifden Bay and to the Atlantic.

Visited the lovely village of Cong on the Mayo/ Galway border on Monday with passengers off Ambience cruise ship. is famous for featuring in the 1952 film The Quiet Man. The Cross is erected on 14th century base and nearby is the 13th century Abbey once home of the last High King of Ireland.

John F Kennedy visted Galway on June 29th 1963, he stayed in Galway for 90 minutes, spoke to a huge crowd in Eyre Square and received Freedom of the City. Its estimated that there was over 90,000 people in the city on a cold, wet and windy day. The square is officially called John F Kennedy Park.
