Our Story

After 15 years in the French Alps, the time was right to move to a less seasonal and snow dependant way of life. With 3 children under 5 years old, we felt that the cottages in Barna arrived at the perfect time - it is a great family business that has restored a lot of balance in our lives and enabled us to slow down. We are located in the coastal village of Barna which enjoys stunning views across Galway Bay. There are some beautiful beaches, cafes, restaurants and a supermarket all within 5 minutes walk from the cottages. We are just a short drive from Galway City centre, where you can enjoy a large number of independent shops, galleries, museums and traditional pubs and plenty of live music every night of the week. By heading out West, you are soon in the Connemara National Park and are also able to visit many beautiful towns, seaside villages and quaint fishing ports.
