Blue Shark Angling Galway is an angling/fishing charter boat based in Ros A Mhil, in Connemara, Co.galway
We offer fishing trips, sight seeing, sea safaris/dolphin/whale watching trips as well as private charters to the Aran Islands. John has over 10 years’ experience at sea both sea angling and crewing on commercial boats, ferries and workboats. Fishing and angling has always been a part of John’

s life as his father was a commercial fisherman for years and his parents run a seafood business. John has a commercial B skippers ticket and yachtsmaster ticket.

It's a poor photo no doubt but this is what I saw this morning before going to sea myself. 2 high capacity pair trawlers fiona k111 and ocean venture 11 (not local boats) hoovering up whatever sprat is left in our bay which was once full of life. Not anymore unfortunately and this is a large reason why. Midwatering for sprat to be produced as fish meal for salmon farms.
It is absolute madness.
It has to stop.

Some fine fish on the deeper reefs today. Good stamp of fish mainly po***ck, with some nice wrasse, coalies, and scad through them as well.
Quite a cold and grey day at sea but it was nice for to finally be calm🤣

Some fine po***ck hitting the lures hard and 6 surprise bream🎣 that mark is well plotted now🤣 they look like black bream but I think the fin is a bit red in colour?? All thoughts welcome guys🎣

Lovely day at sea on Wednesday gone. Thomas markey and crew were out for a generals days angling, po***ck were very finicky as were the Tope but ray managed a nice tope and huss and pat ward caught this lovely tub gurnard😎😎

A few from the last few days🎣 plenty of squid showing up, and a nice few po***ck going too. No shortage of mackerel either.
Went on the anchor for a few hours today and got 4 nice spurs to the boat, some more po***ck and a few whiting.

Rough aul day at sea today, a lot more wind than forecast and with it being from the northwest it really hindered where we could fish.
We did manage a few fine po***ck a good scatter of mackerel and the seasons first 2 squid🎣

We will be running squid trips from now until the start of November if anyone is interested.

Plenty of nice po***ck, a few fine ling, nice red gurnards, a couple of grey gurnards, a surprise dab and a handy few mackerel as well.

Hard day back at sea yesterday after about 8 days weathered off🙄🙄
Fishing was very sporadic but towards the end of the day we found some nice po***ck, wrasse and this lovely surprise john dory.
Cheers lads the fishing may not have been as good as usual but the crack was mighty🤣

Thank fully porbeagle every day and our first blue showed up as well.
The beagles were a lot more finicky this week very soft bites and easily put off. So many dropped bites.
So we are fine tuning smaller floats to see if it helps 💪

Weathered off for a few days now so hopefully get back at them shortly💪💪💪

All in the fish🎣 Pollock and coalies smashing it, slowed down a bit after this but still a bit of fish for the lads to take home💪 even a couple of early mackerel!! 2024 season is finally open. Weather was just unreal a massive contrast to what we have had but heres to hoping some nice stuff sticks around😎 Some dates still available so don't hesitate to give me a shout😎

Poor weather in ros a mhil this morning no shortage of wind but no stir in the harbour thankfully🌊🌊
