Rosie Lavan is a guest speaker at this years Yeats International Summer School 2020. She is an Assistant Professor in the School of English at Trinity College Dublin. Her first book, Seamus Heaney and Society, was published earlier this year, and she is currently working with Bernard O’Donoghue on a major new edition of Heaney’s poems for Faber. More broadly, her research interests lie in twentieth-century literature in Ireland and Britain, and its cultural, social, and political contexts.

The founder of the State and words of influence at key events and historic times .

On this day in 1922, Michael Collins died at Beál na Bláth. Many books have been written about him but 'The Path to Freedom' records his own words on the War of Independence, the Civil War, the foundation of the Free State and other contemporary issues. This is a rare, first edition of the book published in 1922.
