Cllr Jimmy Guerin

Cllr Jimmy Guerin Independent Councillor In Howth-Malahide Area I am married to Louann and have three sons Neil, Mark and Glen. I am aware of the needs of our community.

I have resided and worked in the Howth Malahide area for over 40 years. Since being elected to Fingal County Council in 2014 I have served on may committees including

- Planning & Strategic Infrastructure SPC
- Enterprise Employment and Tourism SPC
- Joint Policing Committee
- Board Member of North Dublin Regional Drug & Alcohol Task Force
- Transport & Infrastructure SPC
- Member of Governing

Authority of DCU

I always welcome the views and comments of those I am privileged to represent, please feel free to contact me if you think I can be of assistance to you with any matter. I will be standing in this year’s local election, that are being held in June, and will seek re-election as an Independent Councillor for the Howth – Malahide area. I am asking as the only Independent Councillor in Howth Malahide for your Number 1 vote on election day. I believe that in the last ten years as a Councillor I have made a positive contribution to my community and have also worked hard for the people of my area. During my ten years I have assisted many people with a wide range of issues and am aware of the problems that people continue to face. I believe that if re-elected I am better placed with my experience to assist people into the future. Sadly, the issues remain the same and the housing crisis has gone from worse to worse with no solution in sight. If re-elected I promise to make the provision of housing my priority in the next term. We also have the cost-of-living crisis, the major Environmental issues that need to be tackled. The issues of Mental Health and crime still impact hugely on people’s lives. If re-elected I will continue to work on these issues. As an Independent Councillor I believe that I will be well placed to help tackle these problems. I look forward to meeting as many people as possible during my campaign.

Many people have raised the issue of noise and issues with the DAA. I was the only Councillor in Fingal that said I would take legal action against the DAA to make them comply with planning conditions and this is why I believe Fingal then stood in with Enforcement action.
